I love the Baked Penne and the Greek Fusili. This place combines great Italian food with a flair. The food is unique and always consistent. I love this place and I recommend that you try there delicious desserts. I love the bread pudding and the tiramisu - it is the best I have had in a long time. The Wednesday night wine pouring is so much fun and different. The owners are always there to great you and I always feel welcomed.
A Shadow of its former self. Mio Vicino was one of my favorite resturants. Recent ownership and management change has let it degrade. The atmosphere is still great, service can be great or not, but the food has not had the hand of a professional chef in a long time. It seems to me that the line cooks have started improvising on thier own and the results are less than wonderful. A recent visit left me thinking I could have eaten at the $6.99 buffet and had the same quality. ...Sorry Marsha.
Too pricey for pasta.
Service is good but please... pasta is pasta. Served a few shrimp (it's expensive) over a few strands of pasta. I had better pasta on a reasonable price. Pasta is the easiest plate you could make at home. Get a good sauce and fresh seafood and you are set.
I don't recommend this place. All meals are simple taste and cost too much for a pasta meal.
A nightmare of a neighborhood!. I am from Long Island and I was here visiting family and staying at the Campbell Inn. Because of the high rating on citysearch I thought I would give Mio Vicino a try. BIG MISTAKE!!! We had to wait FOREVER to get our food, so we were expecting to get a great home-made Italian feast. WE WERE EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED!!!! By the time our food was brought out to us, it was less than luke-warm. The veal was tough and very unappetizing, my wife's pasta dish was disgustingly salty, and the young man that helped us was VERY rude. The men's bathroom was a disaster, and some of the silverware on the table had food crusted on it! I don't know if these are the standards that the management aims for, but as a restaurant connisseur from the east coast, I would truly be embarrassed if I were running this place.
Great neighborhood place. Excellent italian food. Very friendly staff. Owner often onsite. Great neighborhood feel. I go there regularly for takeout or dinein. I recomend this place.
A little slice of Italy. With Frank Sinatra playing in the background and a lovely setting I enjoyed a delishous special - beautifully seasoned, so fresh and yummy and as an added bonus the owner of the restaurant came over, introduced himself and spoke with our party. I felt like I had known him for years. It was a fabulous dining experience and I would highly reccomend it. I will return again and again. Ciao
Delicious Italian Cuisine & Great Service!. Mio Vicino in Campbell is one of those great restuarants where you feel like your at home and love to come back to over and over again! The food is delicious and well served. The prices are more then reasonable and the greatest aspect is the warm & friendly atomosphere. It's clear the owner makes extensive efforts to make you feel like family. I recommend Mio Vicino big time!
European Feel and Great Food. I thought I gave up dining in Silicon Valley unless I spent over $100 for a meal but this little Italian restaurant in downtown Campbell hit the spot. It has brick walls and a great brick mural which reminds me of being in Italy. Open windowns and a nice patio for people watching. The food was full of great flavors. Some dishes were traditional, others were more "Cal Italian" Prices are reasonable and the desserts were all homemade treasures.
Neighborhood Restaurant w/ Great Service. I just ate here a couple weeks ago. I found the food to be tasty and satisfying, with generous portions. Their Caesar salad, vegetable soup, and Tiramisu are particularly good! Our waiter was particularly friendly and knowledgeable too, which nicely rounded out the evening.
A cozy welcome to "my neighborhood.".
A cozy welcome to "my neighborhood."
The Food
Mio Vicino means "my neighborhood" in Italian, and that about sums up the kind of place Mio Vicino is trying to be. Pastas sometimes miss the mark with improbable combinations, but the Caesar salad, pizzas, and tiramisu have a broad following. Kids won't go for the pancetta-wrapped radicchio, so while you're tucking into that, order them a cheese pie. The house wine, Mio Red, is big, fruity, and a great value.
The Scene
There are three outlets of this family-friendly Italian restaurant. The one in Campbell is located in the Old Town area with a view of the water tower. An open kitchen keeps the place lively, especially for those cozied up at a counter seat. The flagship Santa Clara spot has pretty yellow brick walls and lots of windows and the Willow Glen location is bigger, with a rich, earthtone interior.
