My most favorite place. I loved the service, the food and the atmosphere. I have been there many times, and never walked away disappointed. I also enjoy the fact that they change their menu every 3 months or so. And do not forget to leave some space for the incredible deserts.

A cozy, romantic trattoria serving new Italian dishes and generous desserts.. The Scene
Sponge-painted walls are jammed with posters and prints. A garden of flowers fills empty space, and slick waiters bustle around amorous couples leaning close to one another.

The Food
Italian favorites are given a new twist: Orange-tinted risotto with prawns contains butternut squash and caramelized shallots; classic mezzaluna ravioli is stuffed with sweet potatoes, then topped with sage brown butter, whole leaves of fried sage and served with garlicky, crisp green beans. Several of the heavier entrees, like the osso buco, suffer from excessively reduced, inky demi-glace. This setback is quickly redeemed with La Perla, a molded chocolate shell containing rich chocolate mousse and a hazelnut pearl--perfect for sharing with your date.

Horrible Food. This is the worst 3 meals I've ever tasted. My sweetbreads were drenched in oil with heavy sauce that was extremely salty. The osso buco was like rubber and smelled burnt. The scallops were well done and chewy served with hericot verts that were nicley crisp but drenched in very salty butter. When ansered the waitress that my sweetbreads were very salty she said she would mention it to the cook and could possibly see about making something else for. I didn't bother.

Impressive all around!. Impressive food, atmosphere and service. While this place does not look like much from the street, wait til you get inside!

Best Food in the South Bay. Buca La Pastaia is a fabulous place. The host and wait staff was very friendly and explained the specialities of the house and were very helpful overall. The food was outstanding. From the appetizers to the salads to the main courses and desert everything was a perfect 10. We had a party of six who tried different dishes and everything was great from the veal, fish, risotto, etc.

We visited Italy last year and this is the best food we have had since we returned.
