In Short – Built in the 1890s by famed San Francisco architect Willis Polk, the building was originally the country residence and winery of a well-to-do family. It's architecture is a little bit of 16th-century France hidden away in a part of Cupertino where you'd never expect it. Inside the tall French doors are CHC's offices--archiving and publishing historical material dealing with the history of California--as well as a small gallery devoted to exhibits of Californiana.
