Have had better. My husband, and friends like this place. I'd rather go elsewhere. I've been there once and had pork chops. What turned me off is that they actually gave me the Motts cup of apple sauce with my pork chop. I may have liked this place better if they learned better presentation.

Take the apple sauce out of the plastic Motts cup and put it in something else. For the price it just seemed cheap!

I only agree to eat there because my friends and husband seem to like it.

Food Recyclers. I have gone to this establishment a few times throughout the years and wasnt very impressed but after my friend had gone to work here and then walked out of the job I have never been and will tell everyone what I have learned. She says that she walked off the job because they recycle food. i.e salads, mashed potatoes and everything else they can. DISCUSTING!!! and this is why she walked out, she couldnt believe she was asked to do this. Please do not go to this restaurant, well unless you like used food!

Rebuttal. I just read the rest of the reviews, and It's obvious to me that 'SJCFX ' has a personal vendetta against the daughter of the owner of this restaurant. Personally I think people of this sort of low nature should not be allowed to make comments since they are guttural. I personally am going to take this to the top with City Search and warn everyone of this nasty person in the news papers of Gilroy and surrounding cities. This is abominable!

Sensory delights and warm atmosphere. Eating at Tasso's is a delight to the senses. The eyes are filled with the old world decor, the ears tune in to the friendly greetings of Tasso and Maria, the nose savors the aromas eminating from the kitchen, and the taste buds thrill to a sensational blend of flavors. Combine these sensory impacts with the friendliness of the owner/operators, and you've got an evening to remember. My family had such an evening recently, and I know we'll come back for more. The steaks were great and the ambience was inviting. Three cheers for Tasso's!

Great Food (steaks, lobster, salads, etc.), great service. Tasso & Maria are fantastic host/hostess. Meet Tasso & Maria as your host & hostess. Prepare to be treated as royalty and dine in a relaxing atmosphere. We've tried many of their menu items and have not been disappointed with any of them. From sea bass to lobster, clams to oysters, and prime rib to Tasso's steak, take your choice and enjoy. Nice full bar with anything you want, and the bartender is Tasso too - what could be better.

Try it - you will like it!

Da Best. It's listed under cusine as Amercian but that's almost funny!

Tasso cooks anything from American to Greek including all countries between!

This resturant is A # 1 in food, service and the entertainment that comes when Maria serves you!

Hiighly recommend you stop in for a great meal !

Best broad range menu. Great service. Great bar - everything you could want including "Greek Kisses" and the menu is broad and covers anything you would desire. Seafood, pastas, lamb, veal, lobster, steak, etc. Nice atmosphere, again - great service. Very attentive. Highly recommended.

Lamb shank to die for. Last Tuesday night my husband and I went to Tasso's old house for dinner. We were greeted at the door by Maria, who is one of the owners. A lovely woman. She seated us at a corner table.

We ordered Prawns "Saganaki." Large prawns saute then lit on fire and served at your table.

We were off to a great start! I had the lamb shank. It is tender and juicy.

The sanddabs my husband had were full of flavor.

The restaurant has been remodeled in warm rich tones. The service was good.

The food is well worth trying. If you have family coming to visit take them to Tasso's.

Best Italian, Greek and American Cuisine. Wow!!! Tassos Old House Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Northern California. I was very impressed with the decor, ambiance and atmosphere; it is out of this world. The decor has a Tuscan theme; it reminds me of a Las Vegas style Euro restaurant. The banquet facilitiy is absolutely amazing, too. It is ala Donald Trump style: very elegant...a good place for a wedding rehersal/party and the like. The food , in addition, is so yummy!!! The food is full of flavor and absolutely tasty. If you are a steak person (as i am), i would highly recommend the Tassos Steak. Even more, Tassos specialty drink selection is amazing. There are flaming drinks for those who like a little flame show. Plus, Tassos has Greek, Italian and American specialty drinks. This place has a great selection of food, spirits and desserts. Oh, Tassos also specializes in Garlic dishes; thus if you like Garlic, this is definitely the place for GARLIC!!! The owners, Tassos and Maria, are great and make you feel like your family. Tassos and Maria's son, Gus, is the General Manager and is very accomidating with the utmost respect. He makes sure your dinning experience is memorable.
