The Food
Drawing from flavors around the world, the offerings might best be described as California cuisine that lingers lovingly on the spirit of Italy and steals shamelessly from Asia as well. Aim for the simpler dishes such as lamb with garlic mashed potatoes and you'll be happy. In fact, most of the beautiful locals at Tapestry look pretty happy. It's a good date-night locale, especially since the pastry chef seems to have a steadier hand-desserts tend to end every meal on an upswing.
The Scene
The bright, appealing interior with lively paintings and dramatic Italian track lighting provides a delightful backdrop to a sometimes too inventive menu.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant twice, and both times have been great experiences. The wait staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful. We sat outside the first time, and I was accosted by a bee, who seemed to like their salad as much as I did. The waiter patiently tried to shoo the bee away. The food was excellent. I had a different type of steak each time and they were both prepared very well. The spinach salad could have been a little more interesting as it consisted solely of spinach leaves, tomato slices, and the pancetta vinaigrette, but it still tasted good. The deserts were excellent. I had originally balked at the idea of sour cream apple pie, I am not too fond of sour cream, but I am glad that I took the leap because it was excellent. My wife and I are planning on going back to this restaurant often, it has definitely become our new "date" place. I am truly surprised by the number of bad reviews.

Tapestry is a cute family owned bistro located in Los Gatos. We at outside on the patio and I had their beef and chorizo burger. Sounds like a weird combination, but it was delicious.

This was our first and last time at the "Tapestry". The wine is bad, first I tried a Sauvignon Blanc- ick, and after I had a glass of Chardonnay that tasted corky - The waiter took it away and told the manager or owner, I don't know this ignorant guy, but this guy tasted the wine in front of me without saying anything and put it back in the fridge! The food was disgusting, Linguine with a lemon sauce, crab meat, corn, (usually they even add mushrooms, we could just avoid this) it tasted like leftovers just thrown together in the pan, apparently there was no time for grocery shopping. We paid a hundred bucks and believe me - we should have given the money to the homeless, because that would have made us feel better and not worse after a long day of work! These people don't know anything about wine & dine, my suggestion to the owners: Look for another profession!
