I love the classes for several reasons: They're fun, always challenging, and every class is different. Master Fanelli integrates bag work, resistance bands, weighs and a boot camp style of teaching to combat boredom and to make sure all of our muscles take notice! Often times, there are beginners as well as advanced participants. Master Fanelli makes sure all levels are being educated on technique while getting a fantastic workout! I'll have to say, once you go, you're hooked!
We looked at many other Dojangs in the area. We sat in on their classes and spoke with their students. We consistently got very positive feedback from those that attended All Pro and eventually chose to give them a try. Four months later and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Our daughter is really enjoying the classes as well as learning and practicing the techniques. Master Fanelli is very good with all his students, providing the perfect blend of teaching, discipline and fun that encourages the students while creating a safe environment in which to learn. While our daughter has many activities that she does during the week, Tae Kwon Do has by far become her favorite. We have recommended All Pro to many of our friends and acquaintances as well. If you are looking for a place to learn Tae Kwon Do from a true World Renown Master who clearly loves what he does, then All Pro Tae Kwon Do is the place to do it!
Dear Lisa B.,
I want you to know that it is actually a fact that Andy Fanelli has been successfully sued for changing contracts and charging people money they did not owe. You CANNOT find everything on the internet. Here is one (just one, so start your searching!) number of a case that he LOST (Santa Clara County): #708SC031798.
He has had other cases and has a new one coming his way as he has once again cheated people out of money.
It's interesting that you think he's got a great studio. I would urge you to try to talk with people who have been there a long time. Good luck finding them. Most of us have figured out what is really going on and have moved to a good studio where we are treated well and our children are actually learning real and internationally approved TKD.
He has threatened people with attorneys, private investigators, etc. He likes to create drama and lie. If this is what you want in an adult who is teaching your child(ren) have at it.
I DO NOT recommend this studio. I have
a real problem doing business with a person who lacks integrity. Andrew Fanelli has no morals or values. This man would yell at his non-certified instructors in front of children and parents, while he sat in his office on his computer doing Facebook, email and video games. He claims that he teaches the classes, but that is not true.
Andrew Fanelli only wants money and does not have your child’s best interest at heart. He tried to continually charge us after we had left the studio and provided a fraudulent contract to our credit card company, so he can get over paid. He has done this to numerous people and continues to do so. Andrew Fanelli is not a trust worthy man and I’m embarrassed to say there was a time when we trusted him. It’s only right that this information goes out to people in the community so that they are aware of the poor business practices that All Pro Tae Kwon Do provides. AKA “All Pro Steals Your Dough”
Master Fanelli ROCKS!.
I've had my two boys at All Pro for 6 months and highly recommend it.
During this time they have learned about discipline and respect in a fun and challenging environment. I like how the sessions are scheduled, so that even on a busy week we can still get in a few days at the gym. The sessions are also varied to avoid monotony and end with a different, exciting game that the kids really enjoy. Stretching and safety are always emphasized. Assistant instructors Raymond and Steven are great! The older students who assist seem to be very nice too.
From my judo and wrestling background I know the importance of a clean mat, and the first thing I noticed (and checked) about All Pro was its cleanliness. Other things I like about the studio are its location, with easy post-workout food places and coffee places near by, and the comfortable outside patio for watching.
It's also nice to have both boys, who are 4 years apart in age, have classes together. My oldest likes to help teach the younger his forms at home (so cool for dad to watch!)
To get both boys all the way through black belt seems expensive though and I hope we can keep it going. With our current schedule, we are paying about $10 per class. There are other testing and equipment costs.
Happy Customer.
Master Andrew Fanelli is extremely knowledgeable, but more importantly he has an excellent attitude and great teaching technique. He is exceedingly friendly, never talks down to his students, and while there is most certainly an atmosphere of respect and admiration towards him in the school, there is no sense of intimidation or ego around the man. There is also none of the elitist, dogmatic attitude that many schools have where other styles are regularly criticized and disrespected. On the contrary, Master Fanelli is a very respectful, humble man and encourages that same outlook amongst his students.
All-Pro Tae Kwon Do is a fantastic school for someone wanting to learn Martial Arts, but also interested in a focus on real-world defense applications, all while in a friendly, fun atmosphere.
Liz Snowden. Three years ago, my husband and I were in similar circumstances, considering All-Pro Tae Kwon Do for our daughter. We wanted an activity that she would enjoy, and will enrich her at the same time. Tae Kwon Do fit exactly; if she could enjoy the program and commit to it. I would consider our daughter to be on the shy side. She had never participated in team-based sports, had experimented with different music activities, and excels in her academics. We were very skeptical that she would be willing to participate in an activity that was very public, and very physical. In retrospect, our concerns outlined her development areas precisely, and as it turns out, there was no better place for her toLearn than All-Pro Tae Kwon Do, under Master Fanelli's instruction. Master Fanelli will tell you that he teaches respect. The refreshing thing I have learned is that he does not demand it; the children learn to give it to him freely. The children learn that Master Fanelli has principles and values, and he is true to them. As you probably already know, our children can tell the fakes! Master Fanelli is sincere in his attention to each one of his students, and knows each one of them as Individuals. Our daughter has thrived in this environment. With each belt, we give her the opportunity to pursue the next belt, or to pursue a different activity altogether. Each time, she has chosen to go for her next belt. She has made Attaining her black belt her own Goal; not one imposed by us (although we are thrilled!). Master Fanelli has truly folded our family into his. Being a part of All-Pro Tae Kwon Do has enriched our daughter's life, and unexpectedly, it has enriched all of ours. You will not regret your time here. Welcome! We would not want to close this letter without a deep-felt Thank You to you personally. My husband is excited and proud to be joining our eldest in Tae Kwon Do classes. For me, I want to Thank You for the lessons you are teaching our daughter that you probably did not anticipate. She is empowered by what she has learned, and takes pride in her knowledge. Nothing brings this to light more pointedly than teaching her father palgue forms in class! It has also taught her "respectful leadership"; she does not take advantage of the role reversal in class, and handles her leadership position with her father with grace. You are a strong figure in her life, and a wonderful role model.
Don't Choose APTKD!.
There a other studios in town that offer current forms, are certified to teach TKD and where the belts earned will be recognized nationally and internationally. This studio offers none of the above, has consistent problems and treats people disrespectfully and improperly.
Don't waste your time, energy or money at APTKD.
Great Studio/Master Instructor. All I can say this was one of the best classes I sign my son in and I am very glad I did . He has learned a lot ... self confidence, respect , self control , he enjoys Going there I never have to force him to go to the class. This place is always Clean and doesn't smell like some other places. Master Andrew Fanelli is one of the best communicator phone text email. You contact Him , he answers you with no wait. Highly recommended.
Run, don't walk from this studio.
I am writing because I want you to be warned. I wish someone had warned me...
This studio may seem convenient and the owner, Andy Fanelli, may seem "nice" but don't be fooled and don't make the mistake of joining this studio. There are other much nicer studios within a mile radius (and in Los Gatos) but more importantly, there are people who actually do a good and decent job teaching martial arts. This studio does not.
First please be aware that the owner, Andy Fanelli, will do his best to get you to join his studio. You may think he will be teaching your child. VERY unlikely. He is in his office on his email, pulling down his blinds and glancing around and then barking out commands from his office chair to the young (high school) black belts who are teaching the classes. If he knows a potential customer is in the studio, yes he'll be out there in the studio. But if not, the real deal begins. What he presents his studio to be is NOT what it really is.
Once you're on the hook for the monthly or yearly contract, just try to get out of it. He states on the reviews that he writes that he has a money back guarantee. HA!! Just try to get your money back. He has been successfully sued for bad business practices many times. Look at the reviews real people have written and pay close attention. You will have to wade through false reviews that he writes for himself.
Two important things to consider: This studio teaches old forms that are not recognized by the TKD community, meaning Jr. Olympics, Olympics, etc. Also, the belts given by the studio are considered "Gym" belts and have no standing nationally or internationally. If you decide to transfer to a real TKD facility you will have to start with the basics and then earn your belts.
Another thing I care about and want to share is that Andy Fanelli has no qualms about spraying heavy duty cleaning chemicals all over the floor while students are breathing hard and working out. In January (2012) when my daughter got in the car from APTKD she stunk so much due to her feet being completely covered in cleaning fluid and the bottom of her TKD pants damp as well that we had to have the windows open on the way home. This can't possibly be healthy for anyone, let alone children. I've tried to talk with Andy about cleaning after the students have left but he doesn't listen.
Trying to get away from this studio has been like trying to get gum off your running shoe on a hot day while walking on asphalt.
There are much better places that are close by and are run by kind and decent people. Please do your homework and make the right decision for yourself and your family.
