Overpriced for average food and bad service. This restaurant is totally overpriced for its cheap quality food. Service was very bad when it's crowded.
pretty ordinary. This place is pretty good but also pretty ordinary, not much to hype about. Joy Luck is a better dim sum place.
Rude service, food is so-so. We (husband, 2 year old daughter and I) visited This restaraunt at around 1:30pm on June 18, Sunday. We waited for more than 40 mins to get seated. Becasue this is Father's Day, so this might be the reason. The dishes are just so-so. But after the meal, when we are ready for leaving, one waiter bring several hot-water pots in one hand passed by. Suddenly he dropped one pot was dropped and and the hot water spilled to my 2 year old daughter's left foot, and the spilled spot of her foot turned red immediately and she of course started crying. The waiter explained the water is just some left over, not fresh hot water, it is no problem. He did say sorry but no apology. We asked some ice and cold water to cover the red spot of my daughter's left foot. There is a nice waitress brought us some ice too. After above 10 mins, we asked if we can talk to the manager. Then a man showed up and have a peek on my daugher's injured foot. "This is no problem. If you want, we can go to the hospital". This is his only comments. Then he disappeared. I felt a little angry but most of all I felt upset about my daughter's foot. The waiter brought us some pain-relief medicine, which he claimed they use in the kitchen. I used some for my daughter. During this time, I called our medicare provider and my husband went moving the car. we waited another 30 mins. Finally, thanks god, my daughter's red spot of her left foot turned light. And she could get her shoe weared and walk. So we didn't go to the hospital. Until the last minute the management didn't say even sorry.
Authentic Chinese Food.
Mayflower is one of the top tier chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. The quality and selection of dim sum are terrific and the service is generally better than most other Chinese restaurants.
While there is a usually a wait during busy hours, that is no different than any other popular eatery.
The dinner menu is impressive especially the selection of fresh seafood. The chefs have established a traditional menu without sacraficing their creativity. Patrons with knowledge of traditional chinese food will find their favorites and a few new surprises.
Mayflower is worth the wait and the money.
Overrated. Although friends have recommended this large upscale establishment in this Asian Mall complex in the Mipitas suburb, the actually quality of the eats does not match its reputation. The tofu with scallops on black bean sauce lacked sizeable scallops and consisted of the wrong type of tofu (silky should have used in lieu of medium hard) and the cod / fried tofu hot pot was oversalted and underflavored. Since there was a wedding going on that night, perhaps the chefs were overextended and the regular customers got shafted with shoddier service, so perhaps it'd be worth one more visit on a normal night.
Pretty ordinary, long waits.. The dim sum here is nothing special. Go during peak hours and you wait forever to get a table. Go later or earlier and you don't get good selections.
