37.427669 -121.913963Yum. A friend first brought me here a couple of years ago, and my first impression was that it was good but too spicy. I went back a few months ago and now am addicted to their chicken shawerma sandwich. Yes it is microwaved but it is still tasty. You have to love garlic to like this sandwich and if you can't handle spicy things, get it mild. I love spicy food but I have to ask for medium. The owner's dad helps with serving the food and at the cashier, he is so friendly and cute. The only thing that I don't like is that I smell the entire day. When I get to the office, I brush my teeth and use mouthwash but it barely dents the strong garlic smell that I take home with me. Don't eat here if you have a meeting in the afternoon. But it's definitely worth a try if you want to try something new.
I want to like it... but I can't.
I really want to like this place. The owner is really friendly and hard working and I love this type of food, but the food quality is sooo low. The wraps come with meat that is microwaved right in front of your face. The chicken is shredded and not well seasoned and the beef is minced to the point of mushiness. The sauces are good, the hummus is very good.
There is no ambience at all, it's like an old cafeteria, which is fine, but the prices are not that low. I might go back to get some hummus to go.
Best Home-Made Middle Eastern Food! Best Personal Service!.
I discovered this Middle Eastern Restaurant about 3 weeks ago and have been raving about it ever since! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I was craving Falafels and started searching online for something nearby (I live in North Valley / San Jose). The reviews online sounded good... so I went to check it out... and was NOT disappointed.
Sahar, the owner, is so nice! So personable, and really loves her clients... you can tell that immediately when you are in there. Her dad is often helping out also, and he is so sweet! After a couple of times at this restaurant... it gives me the small town feel that I love - personable service... and GREAT home-made food!!
I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. If you don't like your food too spicy... there ARE alternatives. I bring my toddler every time I go, and there is always something on the menu that she loves. My personal favorites are the Falafels, of course... and also the Gourmet Chicken sandwich is soooooo yummy (for garlic lovers though :) I have also tried the Tabouleh, Baba Ghanouj, and Houmos... and have loved them all. Sahar is wonderful with children... my toddler remembers her name already and loves going there.
Check it out... and bring your friends... this is definitely an owner / restaurant that deserves to do well!! :)
