Giorgio's Italian Food & Pizzeria - MilpitasLively chatter and the aroma of garlic are the first things you notice when you walk in the door of Giorgio's Italian Food & Pizzeria. The interior is warm, friendly, and classically "Italian" (complete with red-checkered tablecloths). It is perfect for romantic couples, as well as the entire family. The restaurant has an open kitchen, where patrons can watch the cooks "hand toss" the pizza dough and prepare entire meals. Giorgio's has become the pizza "mecca" of the South Bay area. Best Food, Worst Service
by Vee2323 at Citysearch
My family and I arrived in the restaurant on Saturday on a very busy night. We received the worse service from the very beginning. When we were seated our waiter Heather took our drink orders and we quickly order an appitizer, which never made it to our table. We were sitting at our table for about 20 minutes before they actually brought our table bread. We all ordered waters and was never asked if we needed refills until the very end of our meal. When the food arrived it was the best Italian food we all have ever had. From Linguini to Spaghetti, everything tasted like authentic Italian food. The service was so bad that we were never offered Booster seats for the kids or if we wanted a doggy bag. There was an excellent Bus boy Miguel that was on top of everything and when I spoke with the manager all he could say was sorry. The manager also provided terrible service and seemed like he did not care about the serviced we had just received. Nor did he offer any kind of discount when I had told him that we would never dine with his restaurant due to the service.
- Pros: Italian Cusine Excellent
- Cons: Poor Customer Service
Good Calzone, decent pasta
by aleekat at Citysearch
Giorgio's is a family style Italian restaurant, casual waiters, picnic style tablecloths, lots of loud kids at night. The calzone is really good, a little too bready and a litlle skimpy with the cheese, but the sauce is good. Chicken parm was disappointing, the portion was huge but the whole dish lacked flavor. The pasta doesn't taste very fresh, olive gardenesque. I reccomend it forf the calzone. The pizza looks good but I haven't tried it yet.
- Pros: calzone
- Cons: pasta, noise
Could not even get seated
by jaselp at Citysearch
I wish I could have eaten here. I went here for lunch with my wife on a Wednesday, arrived at 12:30pm, walked in and the place was moderately empty. About half of the tables were occupied. Quick seating right? Nope. We waited patiently in front of the "Please wait to be seated" sign, no host/hostess showed up, none of the waiters even looked in our direction. The only attention we received were occassional looks from the patrons seated near by probably wondering how long it was going to take us to turn around and leave: 10 minutes. The food might be great, but I can't offer my opinion on that since I couldn't even get a table.
- Pros: The place looked nice
- Cons: half of the tables open, couldn't get seated
Great Family Italian Resturant
by rogus at Citysearch
Giorgio's is the last of a dying breed of Great Family Italian Resturant. With places like Olive Garden and Spegetti Factory considered the family italian resturant, Griorgio's is a breath of fresh air (or should I say old air?). The food quality here is superb and done the way Grandma would have cooked it and the prices are extremely reasonable. I've brought many family and friends to Giorgio's and they all had nothing but great things to say about the food Giorgios. They have a variety of plates that will satisfy most people whether its meat, seafood, or pasta, and the pizza here is the best in the Bay Area. If you are looking for a great italian family resturant the way it should be, Giorgio's is the place to come.
- Pros: Great Fresh Food, Excellent Pizza, Great Prices
- Cons: NONE
