And they promised to refund the price difference. The saleswoman kept saying that they would give us the refund in several weeks. after couple month, they would only give store credit, then more lies. In the end, they total denied about the refund. We end up with nothing. These company is not treading customer with the least business ethics. STAY AWAY from them. I also contacted Chopard trying to resolve the issue. Chopard does not care about the customer, they only want their dealers to sell more watches and take our money with no ethics.
Avoid!!!.
I highly suggest that people do not patronize Chong Hing. I recently purchased a wristwatch that was very expensive (nearly $5,000) which completely stopped working after less than three weeks. This store does not have a return or exchange policy and will not do anything other than offer the perfunctory service at the manufacturer. This process takes over 8 weeks to complete. I asked to speak to a manager and the employees refused put me in touch with him or her. They would not even produce a name, which is a highly unusual business practice to say the least.
I wish I had done more research (other than just reading the review below) before my purchase. I have found complaints from other very dissatisfied customers regarding jewelry and watch purchases from Chong Hing. In fact, if you spend the time to search public court records, you'll find numerous lawsuits filed again them over the years. They also changed their Fictitious Business Name at the end of 2005 which is very strange because they claim to have been in business since 1970. This probably indicates that they have had their share of legal issues along the way.
Also, I would like to note their payment policy is mainly cash based. They don't accept American Express (which is the most customer friendly credit card company) and will charge you higher prices and delay your purchase if you don't use cash. I think this speaks to their unethical business practices because if you have any issues, you have fewer avenues to seek recourse.
If you are purchasing a wristwatch, I suggest going to another store such as Tourneau. I have had great customer service experiences there and now I regret not going there to save a few dollars.
