The Scene – While prices at the Great Mall are, on average, lower than high-end malls, don't expect the dirt-cheap bargains you find at factory outlets in San Francisco's garment district. You're paying for the convenience of a shopping center. Most of the merchandise is aimed at families with children. A Century 20 movie multiplex, Van's Skate Park and Dave & Buster's offers a bit of escape for adolescents and adults. – – The Goods – Most of the usual discount suspects--Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory and Old Navy--sit alongside more upscale stores like Espirit…
Outlet Mall -- nothing special
by ehatchell
This is just your run-down big mall, for those of you that have been to Arizona Mills in Tempe, AZ, this isn't even close to the same scale. This is something you'd find in the ghetto in comparision. I'd call this a pass unless you're looking for cheap clothing like Marshalls, etc.
- Pros: CHEAP
- Cons: CHEAP
Maybe not "Great", but quite good

The Great Mall has really turned around from the awful place it used to be several years ago to a nice, vibrant place with good bargains and decent shops. Although claimed to be an outlet mall, it has shied away from the historically poor selection and service of an outlet mall to something between normal retail and bargain basement. Expect to find great bargains and somewhat good bargains. Stores range from showing classic outlet garbage to some very nice selections comparable to a Macy's.
Ignore any reviews by this site or others prior to 2004, as too many changes have taken place to make them meaningful. All my friends who've come back have been very impressed.
And yes, there is now a bypass through the middle of the mall. Thank goodness, because this place is very spread out.
- Pros: good bargains
- Cons: only one, big level, parking
not-so-great mall
by qbayareasearch
it's huge but didn't have many quality brands. displays were awful, customer service was so-so. it seemed like the shops didn't really care if they could sell or not.
- Pros: big, lots of shops
- Cons: low quality, bad displays
The Details on Great Mall
Parking:
There are signs in the parking lot indicating the whereabouts of different outlets--park accordingly.
The Extras:
The mall concourse is half a mile long and there's no way to cut across the central hub, it takes a lot of footwork to get from point A to point B.
