i saw the negative review on this site and started not to patronize this salon and but while looking up other salons this was the only company that offered services for ethnic hair. I still chose to go in the phone book and call around to some other places and alot of them were very rude, so i called strictly styles they were very friendly and informative over the phone so i scheduled an appointment . when i got there there was plenty of parking, it was very clean ,plenty of seating , all of the people seemed very nice . I waited a very short amonut of time before being serviced , while waiting i saw a couple of thier clients as they walked out of the door and their styles were outstanding. When being serviced i felt very comfortable because the styling areas are separated so i didn't feel like every one was looking at me get my hair done. My hair turned out to be beautiful and i also was able to do some networking with a couple of their clients . It was one of the best times iv'e ever had at a hair salon . It was totally opposite from the review that i read and other african american salons that i have been in. Their are at least 10 women working there together and they all seem happy . I applaud them Strictly Styles keep up the GOOOOOD work!

As far as the shop, it was not a friendly environment. There were only four chairs in the waiting area. Needless to say, there were people standing up while others went out to sit and wait in the car. I saw one of the beauticians drop a large container of conditioner on the floor and then take her hand, scoop it up, and then flick it back into the container and put it back up on the shelf above the sink like nothing happened. As far as the beautician or lack thereof, her name was Shorty. I must warn you, if you must get your hair done at this place, please DO NOT ALLOW SHORTY TO DO YOUR HAIR. I am a travel nurse from another state and I currently have a contract in a city where there are next to no black people. I found this shop while looking on the internet for beauty salons that knew how to do African American hair. I called the shop and Shorty answered the phone. I told her that I needed my hair cut and I was looking for a beautician that specialized in cutting and styling short hair. She assured me that she could do it. I drove an hour to get to the shop after working a 12.5 hour shift. And besides fu(k!ng up my hair, she was late getting to the shop. Needless to say, my hair looks like I gave some scissors to my 3 year old nephew and blind folded him and let him loose. I have long pieces of hair hanging over the shaved part in the back. It is not cut in a style. She curled my hair at the very ends and since my hair had grown a bit, had my hair standing on my head looking like Don King with curls at the very end of his fro. I was sooooo embarrassed walking out of the shop. Needless to say, I have booked a flight home ASAP so that my beautician can fix this mess. I would rather pay $200-$400 to fly home and get my hair done than to let another inexperienced, dishonest, “so-called” beautician play in my hair.
Pros: none
Cons: waiting area, customer service, character and skills of beautician, hygeine
