Good Family Mexican Food – LaPaloma is a good family mexican food place. The menu reads like a book as they give you many options. The chips & salsa are fresh, the food & margaritas are good, and the portion size are HUGE. It's definately a step up from most mexican places. Prices here are very reasonable and expect to pay between $7-13 for most items. The only negatives I have to say that LaPaloma is popular, so you may have to wait awhile if you are a drop in and that the parking is awful. While the food and portions are good if you have to battle for parking or wait longer than 15 minutes to get seated, it may be worth going someplace else. But if you find parking and get seated ASAP, it's a good mexican resturant.
User review by padron1926 – Good, but nothing special. Salsa taste bottled. Don't go on Friday nights.
Great Food & Value – My family has been eating at La Paloma for 15 years and are never disappointed. Delicious enchiladas, quesadillas, chili verde, etc. Very family friendly, good service, large portions. No one really goes there for the decor - it's the food! If you plan to eat after 6 make sure you have a reservation as it gets very crowded.
Great Chili Verde! – Best chili verde in the Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area. The lunch buffet is a good value. This restaurant is very popular and gets crowded in the evenings and at lunchtime for the lunch buffet.
Best Mexican food in the Bay – I tried La Paloma recently after reading all the reviews, and I honestly have to say it's the best Mexican food I've had in the entire Bay Area.
I've been to Tommy's (better margaritas there, but food is better here) and Maya (what a rip off) in San Francisco, and though it might not be as 'plush' (so they have vinyl booths - at least they're comfortable) as an El Torito or Pedro's, the food is better. I don't see how anyone who likes real Mexican food, not the bland 'health Mex' slop they serve at Chevy's, can not LOVE this place. The chile verde was great - not watery like you see at some places. Enchildas were excellent. Great margaritas too.
Not worth it! – Don't do it! I listened to the "10" reviews and I regreted it. The service was good, but the food left much to be desired.
