great food, bad customer service. this place has one of the best teriyaki dishes i have ever had but the staff is horribly lazy and rude. there are no white people that work there and all of them are rude asains who never come back to check on drinks or anything. the last two times i went there the waitress did not even ask if we wanted drinks. also had to wait about 15 minutes for a check. the funny thing is that the owner is there about 75% of the time sitting and doing nothing about his poor service.
Awful food and rude service. I've been to many Sushi Restaurants before from all over the Bay Area. I have never been to one with the degree of awful service and food as this one. My girlfriend, her mother, and I first arrived when they just opened for the dinner hours, which began at 5pm. We were 2 minutes early and rudely told to have a seat and wait for the restaurant to open. About a minute after taking a seat, a couple came in and was promptly given a table. After given a table we did not receive a server until the other couple was already receiving their appetizers. Our server did not greet us and we didn't even get a smile from anyone, except the bus boy that gave us our water, throughout the experience. I ordered a Regular Sashimi. The fish was crudely cut into blocks and irregular shapes. The fish looked like it was left over scrap pieces..I'm not exaggerating. It tasted old as well. Two of our sushi rolls were not delivered to us until we were almost done with our meal, which also looked and tasted as if they were quickly put together by left over pieces. All our plates were dropped off at the end of the table and I was given the "job" of serving my girlfriend and her mother. Our server never once passed by so that I could remind her of the late orders. The restaurant looked understaffed and there was no sight of management anywhere, which might explain the too quick and careless service. For the money and time spent waiting the experience wasn't worth it. We, of course, tipped at the end in hopes that maybe most of it would go to the bus boy that gave us the best service there. ;)
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Chef's prepare dishes at your table and serve Kobe beef entrees, sushi, vegetarian options and desserts at reasonable prices.
Stick with the Sushi. We were impressed with little boats floating around the sushi bar carrying all of their varieties, but we had a coupon for an entree, so we ordered that. Save the coupon and go for the sushi! The salad and soup were great so we were very disappointed with our entree. My husband had a beef dish, which was full of grizzle and hard to chew. I had a chicken dish, which resembled a cut up frozen breaded chicken filet and was almost as hard to chew as the steak. If we go back, we will try the sushi.
Not so friendly. Good food, but rarely do I get friendly service. At times, it's really hovers near rude. I don't go as often as I could for just this reason. Every time I go, I think "now I remember why I don't come here" Plenty of other sushi places to go than this one. Nice koi pond, but rarely worth it.
sushi. I like this place cause I am not a big fan of raw stuff.. they make a lot of rolls don't have the raw stuff in it..
Sushi by a stream. Nice ambience, get a table by the indoor goldfish stream if you can. Good place to take a date. If you are a novice at sushi, go for the sushi boats at the bar (they drift by you so you don't have to ask if you don't know the names). Service is good, sushi is average, portions of non-sushi items are generous (I usually order sushi ala-carte, and split a tempura dinner with a group plus miso soup and salad). In the years I've been going there, I've never been disapointed. Call ahead to see if they're open, I've gone there and been suprised that they were closed at lunch on Saturday.
