Great place for lunch!. I have been going to El Amigo Burrito for over 10 years. I am never disappointed with the food. Stick with the house special "El Amigo Burrito" with your choice of meat and you can't go wrong. Like others have mentioned, the chips are not the best but I like to save room for the main course anyway. I like this place for lunch but have other favorites that offer a full bar for dinner.

so amigo....so burrito!. wow! this food is tasty! so much flavor in every dish. forget the lack of ambiance, the star of this restaurant is the delicious menu.

Great Lunch Spot. This is the best mexican food in San Jose period. Portions are big, prices are fair, and the lunch deals are excellent. Its a great place to sit down and have lunch with friends. WARNING: This may not be "authentic" enough for some people. But as I see it, american food has evolved and so has mexican food, if it tastes good I don't care what you call it!

good straightforward mexican food. The food is good! It's simple and straight forward. Good vegetarian options. The meat tends to be broiled rather than grilled. Don't go too close to closing time, because they tend to rush you. Oh, the chips are not as good as you'd hope them to be.

Consistantly Great Food!. This place is always good. The service is fast and friendly. I usually get the chicken enchiladas or chicken burrito. The portions are pretty big and the price is so reasonable. Lots of cheese on the dishes and very yummy! Ive been going here for about 8 years and I've never had any complaints.

Not your typical Mexican restaurant. I have been going to El Amigo Burrito since they were a little-hole in the wall on Saratoga, now located at a larger scale restaurant has been great. I started out eating there famous giant El Amigo Burrito Supreme Carne Asada. I soon learned that had more great dishes like Camarones A La Diabla and there Enchiladas de Mole. They serve big portions.

Always good.... I've been eating there since it opened. The food is always good, the service is always good, and the salsa is GREAT. My favorite is the pork burrito with their great salsa verde (ask for extra sauce, it's great). In all the years I've eaten there, there has never been an "off night". It just a great "Mom and Pop" place and I often recommend it to friends.
