In Short – Now concerts and children's productions are held year-round in the Carriage House Theatre, while the outdoor Garden Theatre and Front Lawn areas are open only during the summer months. Past performers include Wynton Marsalis, the Four Tops, Willie Nelson and others. Villa Montalvo also hosts Broadway musicals, chamber music and symphonic music. – – –

Nice concert venue but skip the pre-concert dinner!

We've attended nice intimate concerts at the Garden Theatre but we were extremely disappointed with the pre-concert dinner. The price and website description were very misleading to us. It is not what you'd expect from a standard restaurant:
(1) you have to share a table with at least 4+ other strangers
(2) you have to get up to get your own wine
(3) the menu is set in stone, there is absolutely no choice
Not quite the romantic experience we were hoping for on our Anniversary...

Tranquil walk along beautiful gardens

We visted Villa Montalvo in the winter. I'm sure it is much prettier in the spring and summer when the flowers are in full bloom. It's a very nice place for photography, especially if you don't want to drive beyond Silicon Valley.
- Pros: beautiful scenery, tranquil atmosphere
- Cons: tight, windy roads

Beautiful, Romantic, and Wonderful Music

My boyfriend and I just went to Villa Montalvo for the Wynton Marsalis Concert...we had a wonderful time! The grounds are gorgeous, the music was incredible, and because it is a small venue that is outside, it doesn't matter where you sit! This is a great place to go!
