What People Are Saying About The Old Spaghetti Factory

In Short – Whimsical antiques and decorative items--velvet armchairs, vintage-looking fringed lamps and booths made from iron bedsteads--fill the dining room. The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.

Terrible experience. Never went back!

Had lasagna here with my family of 4. Bit into my dinner and hit something hard. Piece of glass in my food. The waitress basically told me I was a liar and acted as if I brought it in to get a free meal. Never went back and have talked to other people that had the same thing happen. Their story is that there is no glass in the kitchen so it was impossible. HA! I guess someone in the kitchen planted it in the food then, because I didn't!
So-so italian food

I have been to the Spaghetti factory quite a few times, and it is not that impressive. It's average food, and for some reason, it is always packed!! The food is mediocre yet the line is always out the door. If you go to the spaghetti factory for lunch, they do have an awesome soup and salad combo, and it's all you can eat. The service however, is slow, so if you only have an hour for lunch, you might want to consider ordering your food to go. The food is not terrible, but if you're looking for great-tasting, authentic Italian, I would not recommend this place. If you're in the down town area and you happen to be near by and don't mind so-so Italian food, check it out, maybe you will find a dish that you do like.
Get It To Go!

After years of working in downtown San Jose I have seen many eateries come and go but OSF seems to be the staple there. The atmosphere is incredible when you walk in. Huge framed pictures on the wall, what San Pedro Square used to look like, and beautiful antique furniture in a variety of warm colors.
I used to try to eat here on my lunch hour but the service was always slow and not very friendly. I wised up and started ordering it to go. They have parking for to go orders in the back which makes it super convenient. I only go there for lunch, typically with a co-worker of mine and eat in our breakroom. I typically order the same thing every time I go there - the Tortellini Alfredo which is under seasoned so I always have to add salt and pepper but I still love it. The meal comes with either salad or the soup of the day, a loaf of bread, ice cream (vanilla or spumoni), and if you choose a beverage of either milk, iced or hot tea, and something else - no soda.
Usually ready when yo get there. It actually takes longer for the hostess to ring up your order once you hand her your credit card as she disappears into a back room for your receipt. When we return to work with the food most of our co-workers wish they had some too. I think as long as you don't sit down and at there (their seating is incredibly uncomfortable by the way) then you're getting a good value for your money.
- Pros: Inexpensive Meals
- Cons: Staff/Service
An absolute disaster

Can I give 0 stars?
Before dinner, I was having a martini at the bar. The rim of the glass was broken and I cut my lip. I told the bartender and he moaned "I guess I have to make another one then..." He did not even apologize.
We sat down for dinner. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. The order was slow to arrive. When it did, I took a bite into what I thought was a piece of cheese melted on the top. Turned out to be plastic wrap melted into the noodles about the size of half a dollar bill.
I immediately called for the manager. At that point we had consumed our salad and about 1/2 a glass of wine each. I told the manager what happened in the dining room and the bar, that we intended to leave and I would not expect to pay for any of this.
He said "that's fine". Never apologized. Nothing. We left and will never return.
Cute place, so-so food

My girlfriend introduced me to this place. I liked the atmosphere here but the food wasn't that great. We had spaghetti in white wine sauce and it was surprisingly dry. Our service could've been better. I'd come back if I had to,
