More than 4,000 vibrant rose bushes perfume this five-acre garden..
Overview
Once a prune orchard, and now exclusively devoted to shrubs of the rose family, the Municipal Rose Garden boasts 189 varieties of heritage, modern and miniature roses. Hybrid teas comprise 75 percent of the collection. The roses are at their showy peak in May and June, but continue blooming through October. The All-American Rose Selections, a national independent rating organization, sends new rose varieties to the garden for testing before releasing them to the public, so you never know what you'll see.
Features
Centered around a two-tiered fountain and surrounded by a green lawn and tree-shaded picnic tables, the garden also features a reflection pool, sun dial, concrete benches and a natural grass stage surrounded by a cathedral of redwood trees, which is available for wedding ceremonies.
