Good beer garden and watery taste. Good location.

Nice beer garden with plenty of life music.

Average food.

Beer is not for beer lovers, watery taste is below average for micro-brewery.

Visual flair and fusion fare distinguish this upscale beer hall from smaller microbreweries.. In Short
Airy, industrial decor lends a lighter, more urban feel to Gordon Biersch than most beer halls. The bar may get crowded after 5pm, when a happy-hour crowd hoists a few pints of seasonal Bavarian-influenced beers. A menu of fusion and New American dishes include beer-friendly offerings like shrimp and chicken pot stickers, Moroccan-spiced lamb chops and the signature garlic french fries.

Avoid if you like beer and an honest Pint...... Coming from Portland, Or to San Jose on business, figured I'd re-visit a Gordon Biersch pub in down town San Jose. If you 1. like a good local beer, PASS on GB. Beer was way below average, had the Seasonal tap. 2. Then they charged $5.75 for a poorly poured Pint! Must have added a fuel surcharge. There are many options in the South Bay, I didn't have a chance to visit The Tied House Brewery just a block or two away but has to be better. To add insult the beer choice must be catered to those that do not like Hops. GB, get your act together. Try the IPA at El Toro in Morgan Hill for a lesson on how to brew.

Good beers. The first time I had their beer was at the airport when I was waiting for a flight. I've since been a few times to their restaurants and have not been disappointed with the beer. They have a seasonal beer which is really good and I will re-visit for the beer. The food is not all that great and the prices are exorbitant for bar food. I've found better value at similar places. And the two times I visited their service was only ok. The ambience is great for a night out with friends; it's a little loud, which is how I like it! Again, great beer but haven't seen anything else yet.

User review by chocotiffy. Every dinner I've had here has never been a bad experience. My favorite dishes are the glazed chicken wings, roasted chicken with mash potatoes, seared ahi tuna, roasted chicken with fettuccine, and the gordon biersch burger. My favorite beers are the Blonde Bock, Pilsner, and Marzen. As for the seasonal beers, I like the Hefeweizen and Winter Bock. It doesn't matter whether i'm sitting outside or inside, the service is always great.

Downtown Dining. I went to Gordon Biersch with a couple of friends a couple of weeks ago. The experience was pleasant. Unfortunately, I only had dessert since I was late, but from what my friends said, the food and beer were great. Our waitors flirted a little, but that was to be expected. I would definitely come back again for San Jose downtown dining. Reqest an outside table, especially in the summertime. This place left a charming impression.

best beer best value. I love GB, I always have a pleasant dinning experience with out feeling gouged. Beer is best I have found outside of Germany. Portions are often too large to one. That makes it had to drink more beer.
