Honest, good quality, courteous staff, great service

My car overheated and my regular service

garage wouldn't take it until the following

week. This is a commute car which made immediate repair imperative. A friend had recommended Tate Family Auto to me before, so I gave them a call. Without hesitation, they sent someone to pick up my car, even though I live over 15 miles North of San Jose. They quickly diagnosed the causes and clearly explained to me what needed to be fixed.

They even delivered my car to another place that was most convenient to me.

Tate Auto: Honest trustworthy folks

They saved me lots of money by telling me what I really needed. I had gone to the dealership who told me I needed all these expensive things done but Tate Auto steered me right and only did what was needed instead of "looking for business" and taking advantage of me.

About that Andrew Shotland aka "Flat Tire" sham: Shotland is an SEO in the worst economy since WWII. SEOs are well known to be hucksters and even more so in this desparate economy. One tactic they use to drum up business is to "bash" a business then offer to sell them a solution, kinda like someone who gives you a virus then offers the virus software a day after. I guess people are desparate to make a dishonest buck.

EXCELLENT! Don't listen to "Flat Tire Guy" & his friends

I have received service directly from the owner for almost 10 years. I have NEVER had a bad experience with him or with the quality of service at "Tate Auto." The owner is ALWAYS helpful, he goes out of his way to get the job done at a fair price, and his work is of high quality. What I appreciate the most is that I can trust "Tate Auto Care." I don't have to worry about whether or not they are trying to make an extra buck off of me. And they will tell me the truth about what really needs to be fixed.

What I don't appreciate is the "Flat Tire Guy" who wrote a bad review and then got all of his friends to write reviews for him, even though they probably don't even know where "Tate Auto" is located. It's ok to write "bad" reviews. Not every business is perfect. And "Tate Auto is not perfect. But to get your friends to write reviews for you?! Come on! I have a feeling there is more to the story than what "Flat Tire Man" is telling us. Especially since I have known the owner and their service for almost 10 years.

Don't make your decision about "Tate Auto" based only upon one "flat tire."

Tate Family Auto is Excellent

Tate Family Auto is an excellent full service auto repair shop. I have been a loyal customer for about 1.5 years. I have taken my Acura in for service several times and have always had a 100% positive experience. I work in downtown San Jose and Tate Family Auto is a perfect choice as it is in walking distance and most times repairs can be done during the day while I work.

Tate Family Auto has completed many repairs on my Acura, including replacing the alternator, performing brake service, and fixing various electrical problems. They always do an excellent job for a very reasonable price and are often available to provide service quickly without a long wait. The service technician I have mainly dealt with is Eddie, who has always been very friendly, very attentive, spends time to explain everything clearly, and always goes to great lengths to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

I wrote this review partly in response to the reviews below, which completely contradict my personal experiences with Tate Family Auto.

Do you notice how they are all dated on or about 8/16/09? Clearly they are the work of one disgruntled person who either logged in as several people or had friends impersonate customers for the purpose of wrongfully defaming Tate Family Auto. It is very sad to see this website misued in this way by some wayward individual who has an axe to grind.

I highly recommend Tate Family Auto and predict you will be very happy with the service they provide and will have a very good experience with them as a customer, just like I always have. Tate Family Auto is my favorite auto shop and I will continue taking my Acura to them in the future as service is needed.
