Great Place. Great place. We got in quickly. Good vendors, good food in the club level and helpful staff. Go Sharks!

Good Place for a Concert. So we all would rather see our favorite bands in smaller venues. However, the big venues bring in the cash money, so unfortunately we have to accept it for what it is. HP Pavilion is a pretty decent place to catch a show for an arena. It's pretty easy to access from the freeway, parking is plentiful (though not cheap), and the arena itself has decent amenities and food/drink selection. Since it's a hockey arena (as opposed to basketball), it is smaller than a place like Oracle Arena. So, you can get pretty decent views of the stage from wherever you sit. If you're on the floor, there is a concession stand and bathrooms down on the same level, so no need to climb the stairs all the way back up unless you're heading to the merch booth.

H ockey's the main event, but plenty of concerts too.

P retty easy to access from the freeway.

P arking is a tad expensive (usually $20+).

A menities are decent.

V ariety of stage setups, including end-stage to center-stage.

I t's a good excuse to drive down to SJ from SF.

L ighting and sound is great for an arena.

I t is smaller than most basketball arenas, so you feel closer.

O nly a few places within walking distance to eat at.

N o place better than sitting in the floor sections.

The gem of revitalized downtown San Jose hosts big-name musicians and hockey.. In Short
With concerts and sporting events, the arena is busy about 180 days of the year. It's known as the Shark Tank, home of the San Jose Sharks professional hockey team, and the men in teal play at home about 40 times a year--including, hopefully, playoff games. When it comes to music events, the arena has hosted lots of big names, including Garth Brooks, Bob Dylan, U2, Dave Matthews, Black Sabbath and the Judds.

Way better than Oakland. The San Jose arena is far away a much better venue than the "new" arena in Oakland -- the former Oakland Coliseum Arena. San Jose has big, wide walkways and plenty of food choices. The design is nothing out of the ordinary, but makes for a loud scene at Sharks game (which is exactly the way it should be). Plenty of parking is available if you want to walk 4-5 blocks.
