Citysearch Editorial Review. After the drive up through the dusty, yellow landscape that surrounds Cordevalle, it's difficult to imagine the verdant oasis promised in the brochures, but the grounds of this Rosewood Resort manage to exceed expectations. Spacious hilltop bungalows overlook meadows, seasonal creeks and waterfalls running through a 7,169-yard, top-rated golf course surrounded by the Santa Cruz mountains. The bungalows, villas and "homes"--four master bedrooms grouped around a central area--are luxurious, highlighted by huge bathrooms with double sinks and whirlpool tubs with windows facing private gardens, Frette linens on the oversized beds, and walk-in closets. Though Cordevalle is geared towards golfers--the men's locker room alone is 15,000 square feet and has a bar, flatscreen TV's and a massive spa/sauna area--there's also a beautiful pool and spa, nearby hiking trails, tennis courts and 85-acre Clos LaChance winery vineyard, plus at-your-service staff whizzing around on golf carts ready to ferry you from one luxe amenity to the next.
