Rock on, New Location.
I was so happy to find these guys were not out of business. driving by the old location a while ago and it looked deserted. They are just down the street near the car wash. The inventory is organized and you are always welcome to rock at this institution.

Good inventory, so-so sales reps.
I'm a guitar teacher in the Bay area and I usually tell my students parents to go to Guitar Showcase because Guitar Center has horrible sales people that aren't so much interested in the development of a young guitarist but selling stuff. I have little 10 year old kids coming to a lesson with an adult-sized dreadnought guitar.
BAD SALESMAN! He told them that it fit fine, which it didn't. The student couldn't play it, got frustrated, and eventually got a guitar that fit.
BUT for folk that know what they want, this place will DRAIN your wallet :) Their classical guitar selection is poor but that's not what they specialize in.
If you like the prices and inventory, order on-line. If you go to the store, good chance you'll pay for more than the items you wanted! Store is better off with less salespeople, one or two real experts, and just normal folk running registers.
If everyone has their own expert opinion... nothing's true.

A humming, beating, vibrating, music mega store..
In Short
Just as the electric guitar started gaining popularity in the '60s, so did this once-modest, now monumental music store chain, which has grown to become the country's largest retailer of musical instruments. The store is packed with merchandise hanging overhead, crowding the aisles and monopolizing the walls. Contrary to its name, it's not just about acoustic and electric guitars; it also serves the needs of keyboardists, drummers and horn players.

Dont buy a guitar here.
This is the kmart of guitar stores. they are only interested in volume and not selling quality. the employees dont know anything about guitars and are probably fast food transplants. most or all are not even musicians. if something happens to anything you buy once you walk out the door they will claim no responsibility and you'll be stuck with a broken or bad guitar. very hard to return things here. this is what happened to me. shop somewhere else. since I am now more educated about guitars now I'll never shop here again. I shop elsewhere. better you do too.
