Giorgio's Italian Food & Pizzeria--San JoseLively chatter and the aroma of garlic are the first things you notice when you walk in the door of Giorgio's Italian Food & Pizzeria. The interior is warm, friendly, and classically "Italian" (complete with red-checkered tablecloths). It is perfect for romantic couples, as well as the entire family. The restaurant has an open kitchen, where patrons can watch the cooks "hand toss" the pizza dough and prepare entire meals. Giorgio's has become the pizza "mecca" of the South Bay area. Don't look for yuppie pizza here. We feature authentic Italian pie…

Family-style South Bay Italian chain offers red-checkered ambience, where local families and dates share classic dishes and pizza.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- To-go catering trays can be pre-ordered as little as one day in advance for events and parties.
Phenomenal, Penne Calabrese in a Rosa Sauce.
by tory510 at Citysearch
This dish, is hearty and exhilarating.
Get it with extra sausage.
A Rosa sauce is half marinara, half alfredo.
Exquisite, this dish is.
Reasonable price for portions.
OK...

Although this place has a nice atmosphere, I feel it is overrated and overpriced. Their pizzas aren't anything special, neither are their pastas and sauces, such as the raviolis and Fettuccini. Their bread with garlic butter is the absolute best, though!! A few years back, they had a bowtie pasta with chicken and mushrooms in an alfredo sauce, which was killer. They've since removed that from the menu, and changed the sauce, which is now so-so. Seems the prices have gone up, and their changed menu is less appealing....
- Pros: Atmosphere, bread
- Cons: Parking can be very difficult, overpriced
Food & service great, management disappointing
by bb25 at Citysearch
The food is really very good, fresh, and very flavorful. The service is always quite good as well. However, the management staff need to pull it together, its a shame such incompetent people have been put in charge of such a promising restaurant.
after 22 years I still love this place

I remember when this restaurant was half the size it is now and was just making a name for itself. The food was excellent then as it still is now. The only difference is there is always a waiting list at dinner time now. Do not be afraid to order anything on the menu. It's all delicious!
- Pros: one of the best pizza's in town
- Cons: always a wait as this place is really popular with the locals
