One of our favs- tasty and fresh. We absolutely love this place. The fish is very fresh and plenty of choices to chose from. You have to try the Godzilla Roll! Lots of parking, great service although a little on the slow side so don't go when you're starving like we always seem to do. A+

Best Japanese food in the Bay Area. This will be the best Japanese restaurant you will ever go to in your life! My group of friends and I have been eating here at least once a month since the restaurant opens a few years ago. The sushi rolls are by far the most unique and best tasting rolls you will find anywhere in the Bay Area. The service is also excellent. The chef and the staff are very friendly and make the dining experience very personal and enjoyable. I recommend this place to everyone who's is looking for a great meal and dining experience

great sushi in the world. umi sushi is great place. they have great service, top quality fish, clean, also have great special rolls.

horrible. the service is horrible and the food is very expensive. the resturant is very small. It takes so long to bring the food , very small portion.

Hands Down the Best Sushi in the San Jose Region. I have have had sushi all around the world (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc..) and in addition I have also tried nearly all of the sushi establishments in San Jose and the surrounding areas and UMI is the best. Owner and Chef Hee Kim has created an enviroment that even the pickiest of eaters will enjoy.

Why is it the best?

- All of the fish is VERY FRESH.

- Serving size is better than anyone else.

- VERY fair pricing.

- Incredible selection of Beer, Sake and Soju.

- Staff is friendly and attentive.

- Regulars make the place lively and fun for even for family's.

The fish is amazingly fresh and abundant. Hee and Danny truly create edible art. The house rolls are fantastic (try the Red and/or Pink Dragon). They also offer many other Asian style dishes that are not on the main menu. Tell them what you like and let them create something special for you. If you like spicy, try the Poki. I also highly recommend the Rooster Roll. It is a combination of Spicy Tuna, "Asian Crunch" and topped with Maguro (tuna), Sake (salmon), Wasabi Tobiko and and special house sauce. You will not be dissapointed. The Bento boxes are fantastic and plentiful. If you like to have a little something to drink with your meal, try the Sake and Soju collection. If you are not sure, just ask. They will help you determine what the best drink is with the Sushi you ordered. If you prefer beer, no worries. They offer 5 different types of Asian beer.

You will learn on your first visit that Umi Sushi is what every sush place strives to be. Freindly, fresh and the best at what they do.

Best Selection of Sushi Around!. This place is really fantastic! I didn't know what to expect because I hadn't heard much about it. The sushi selection is great, much more than other sushi places I've been too. A lot of specials and they are priced very reasonably! Service was quick and friendly. I recommend getting the Hurricane and Godzilla. They sure did give a lot of fish. MMMM melts in your mouth good. If you're in the area, you must definitely go here. I'll be coming back!

Greatest sushi experience ever!. Umi Sushi provided myself and my friends with the greatest sushi dinning experience imaginable, with great food, atmosphere, service, and the personality of the staff all made it an experience to remember. I will deffinatley be returning to Umi again for another great outting.

Best Sushi in town!. Umi Sushi is by far the best Sushi restaurant I have ever experienced. Their fish is always top quality, and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend the Almaden spicy tuna and the premium white tuna...it doesn't get any better than this!! Thanks for your outstanding service Hee. I look forward to sharing another Saki shot with you.

The best Sushi in San Jose.. Ive tried just about every sushi place in San Jose, and none even come close in flavor or presentation. A must for anyone who appreciates and expects the highest quality in fresh sushi.
