Editorial Review for Bogey's Pizza CO – by Jim Harrington
The Food
Taking its name from the golf term, Bogey's fills the hole with some of the best pizzas in San Jose. Go with the combo (pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, linguica, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers and onions), '50s Favorite (Italian sausage, salami, pepperoni, mushrooms and black olives) or build your own. The Trevino Speciale delivers a heaping amount of beef chorizo, bell peppers, onions, jalapenos and fresh tomatoes. Arnie's Favorite is a simple classic with pepperoni, fresh mushrooms and black olives. Vegetarians will enjoy Bogey's Victory Garden (black olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and artichokes). From the calzone side of the menu, try Chi-Chi's Choice with beef chorizo, onion, bell pepper, tomatoes and more.
The Scene
A family restaurant that is appropriate for just about anybody. This is a great place to take the team after wining the big game. It's even a better place to take the team after losing the big game.

We used to go here on Wed. nights for the special through my teens and twenties. At that time in my life, I hadn't been many places or tried many pizzas and didn't fully appreciate the amazing treat we were getting. It's the best pizza I've ever had. I moved from San Jose 7 years ago and have been craving Bogey's like mad so came on here to read reviews to see what "style" pizza Bogey's makes and read local reviews for where I live to see if I could find pizza of a similar description, but people like to review a pizza in pretty vague terms, which is not helpful when you are trying to figure out if a place you've never been makes it like you want it. One person describes this as thin crust, another as thick. CONFUSING! So I created an account just to come on here to tell others that Bogey's crust seems to me to MAYBE most closely resemble a Chicago-style thin crust pizza, cut normal, though, not in squares. The crust is thin in the center, but gradually gets thicker toward the outer edge. The edge crust is not a huge w@d of bread, though. This may seem like a flaw-uneven crust, but those of you who love it know it's perfect! That thin little tip of the triangle first bite is so hot and crisp on the bottom, but thick and overflowing with toppings that you almost burn your mouth getting a bite of it while it's still perfectly crisp (juices from fresh toppings can cause it to loose that crunch after a bit). The bottom of the crust develops a smooth-crisp shell to it while the dough just above it is soft- not dry or flaky. The sauce is juicy and fresh tasting and liberal enough that some of the cheese may slip on it- again, not excessively. I like that you WON'T automatically loose all your toppings just pulling a piece off. The toppings are super fresh and always very generous. This pizza is really a hearty meal, so when someone says "thin crust" they don't mean those flat Frisbee type pizzas that are good for an appetizer, but it's not super thick, either. *****
Pros: Tasty, Fast, Friendly, Fresh, Reasonable
Cons: NONE

Excellent Pizza! I've been going to Bogey's for over 10 years and highly reccomend the pizza. It is the only place my husband and I go when we want pizza. Great atmosphere, friendly service and staff. The pizza is always hot and loaded with lots of meat and cheese. Best pizza in the area.
Pros: Pizza is always served fresh and hot and loaded with the toppings of your choice
Cons: None that I can think of
