I had been a big fan of one sushi restaurant downtown but one day my boyfriend took me to Sushi Okawa and have been going every week! The rolls are so fresh and Sam has rolls that you cannot find anywhere else and has the old favorites! I seriously go there every week and not only is the sushi great but miso is soooooo good too!

So my husband and I ran into this place one night when were were bored. We sat in the cornor of the sushi bar and kept to ourselves. We noticed that everyone knew the owner and chef (Sam) and they all had a good relaionship with him. The second time we went he remembered us and we have been going back ever since!!!! We have made a tradition out of New Year Sushi (Sam usually stays open till the wee hours and gets a DJ). We frequent so often we were even allowed to make our own sushi roll (it's called the Raider Roll, try it out!!!) We now live in San Diego, but every time we go back home, we always stop in.
