Unique Clothing - Always noticed. This store has been top on my list for years. And, when I notice someone wearing a very unusual piece of clothing, I will eventually ask, "Do you shop at Alta?" They do. It's seldom that I ask it but those unique, creative, sophisticated style women stand out. LOVE this store and everything in it. The wonderful staff too.

shopping heaven. I don't know when that original review was done, but whoever wrote it needs to go back. This is a great little store. I stop by a lot and usually spend money too. The staff is friendly and if you are tired of the sameness of Nordies this is the place...unique and wonderful things...even great jeans! I'm a 6..my friend a 12 and we both find plenty. Check it out. Even a toy box for the kids

Beautiful, colorful clothes!. The editorial review of Alta really surprised me - I wondered if we were talking about the same store. I am 37 and don't even come close to dressing like my mother, but I compelled to enter the store every time I pass by Alta's window. The clothes are beautiful and colorful and unique. Certainly not everything in the store is to my taste, but it is my favorite place to shop for unusual pieces.

Who Shops Here
Not for the trendy twenty- or even thirtysomethings, Alta, a small, quiet boutique in the heart of downtown Willow Glen is definitely the place to buy your mother something.

What Do They Buy
Relatively expensive, casual outfits in natural fabrics —cotton, linen, silk—hung, color coded, on racks and in nooks in this small, white-carpeted shop. Several blouses and dresses have those squares of quilted or embroidered cutouts of flowers and whatnot sewn onto them. (Your guess is as good as ours.) Everything is loose-fitting and muted and it's all about matching tops and bottoms.

On The Side
Clear fiberglass display boxes in the center of the store showcase youthful jewelry: delicate, hand-worked silver and beaded bracelets and necklaces in brights and pastels.
