San Jose >Krungthai
Best Thai Food in San Jose.
The food here is SO good! I disagree with others that the waiters are rude, and I have never had a problem using a credit card. The restaurant is very busy, though, so the waiters can be rushed. But they are nice people.
The food is elegant and delicious! Simply the best in this area. I prefer it to the "New Krung Thai" by Valley Fair, although that one is good, too.
Best pad thai i have ever had....
Food is jsut great.
me and my wife took 3 main dishes.
we started with 2, but since they were so good we took the crab noodle also - ate most of it and boxed the rest.
service is quick.
we had a good time...
The best Thai Rest. I've ever been to!. So far this is the best Thai restuarant I've ever been to. The service is great and the food is really good. Don't order the basil beef thou! Although the taste & flavor is good, the beef is overcooked. I also like the one behind Valley Fair Mall. I've been there for company lunch take-out many times.
Food Ok - Payment Policy Questionable. The food is pretty good. The prices are decent. However they have a weird and "stingy" policy when paying by credit card. Beware if paying by credit card - bring cash instead or be prepared to haggle with the host(esses) who don't really speak English that well. In fact, after not being allowed to split the check onto different credit cards, I avoided this restaurant for months.
The worst service I have ever had!. The waiters at Krung Thai were rude from the moment we walked in. Worst of all, they made the food really spicy (even though we asked for mild) and then our waiter laughed at us with other waiters while we were eating. We've been a loyal customer for years but that will no longer be the case. Given the price, small portions and rude service, I say you're better off getting your Thai food elsewhere.
Tastiest Thai Food. I have not found any Thai restaurant that comes close in flavor. Blue Mango and Dusita come close, followed by Bankok Taste, the rest, forget it! I only care about taste.
Food tasted better at San Carlos. We have eaten at KT since they were at San Carlos. Food was better when they were at San Carlos. Service is mixed -- sometimes the server is quite nice and other times he/she can be rather unpleasant. The mango over sweet rice is excellent.
Spicy. Their food is very spicy, so if you can not handle it make sure to tell your waiter. Their service is below average. Sometimes they are allright, but last time their waitress gave me a rude gesture (maybe I misunderstood her?). Worth the food but not the service. They could improve on their ambience.
Breath Fire? You will!. Krung Thai is one tasty south bay gem. Food is consistently good, crowds are also consistently present. And with good reason! Decent prices, decent portions, and great food. My favorites: angel wings (stuffed chicken wings), Stuffed calamari, and definitely the best pineapple fried rice! If you order anything spicy, be sure to order a delicious thai iced tea to wash out the burn!
Best Thai in the area. True, there's not much for ambience, and service is even problematic sometimes, but I know what excellent Thai food is, and it's definitely worth coming to. Higher prices, smaller portions, but again, top Thai food. They actually make it spicy enough for those who can handle it. If you're not one, don't order hot, or even medium spicy. One advice, don't bring a large group.
