Memorable. We have been at Mt.Hamilton Grand View restaurant several times and we always have a good experience. I agree that the inside of the restaurant is a little dated but what stands out the most with this restaurant against the rest is the great view and great service. You actually don't feel rush and you can take as much time as you want with your dinner. The waiters do not stand there watching you to finish so the table can be cleaned up for the next customer. The food is also good and again, the view makes it a memorable evening. So if a modern and upscale decor is very important for your dining experience, this might not be for you. But if you want to leave a restaurant content with the food, service, and view then try this restaurant

02/14/07 Bad Valentine's Day Experience. I was part of a party of 4 people that went to this restaurant for Valentine's Day 2007. I made a reservation a month in advance for 8:30pm. I did not get seated until 11pm. The service was very polite but slow. The restaurant seemed understaffed and unprepared for the Valentine's rush. When we finally got our table after 2 hours, i felt like the restaurant was closing around me, waiters disappeared, tables wer being set up for the next day, and the pleasant ambiance of a fantastic view turned into frustration and misery. When the food finally did arrive shortley after midnight it was terrible, and tasted like it had been microwaved or sat under a heat lamp for hours... The only compensation I received for a terrible experience was an extra lobster tail that tasted like rubber. The view was great but not worth the bad experience, personally i would not visit this restaurant again.

If you like food...?. The drive there is great fun and the view is fantastic. The decor is dated, but clean and presentable; the staff are friendly. The food however is very poor. I had the vegetarian option, a TV dinner fresh from the microwave. My wife had the boil in the bag Cordon Blue chicken. A great shame as the setting and the prices would indicate so much better.

Good Food - Nice People. It's warm and charming with people to match. The food is generous, well presented with care and attention. The jewl of this roadhouse is the view from the mountain. Treat yourself and try this one. It's well worth the drive.

Awesome View!!. I love this place!! The staff is very friendly and they let you take your time through each course. All meals come with bread, soup and salad. The view of the valley is breathtaking and every table has a view. It's the most romantic place for a date! There is an outside patio to enjoy a cocktail before or after your meal. On some nights as the sun is setting the deer come out in herds on the mountain side, quite a site!
