Editorial Review for Taco Bravo – by Jim Harrington
The Scene
The main selling point of Taco Bravo is the hours and location. Besides Denny's, there are very few places to eat after the bars close on this side of town. Taco Bravo is open until 3am and attracts a heavy amount of happy patrons, especially from the bars in nearby Pruneyard shopping center.
The Food
Half the menu is dedicated to burritos. The other half is the regular array of tacos and tostadas. The inexpensive grub is better than Taco Bell--though close enough to be quite comparable. When in doubt, go with the big beef burritos. The pork is mediocre, so stick with the beef in the burritos. The chili burger is a poor man's Sloppy Joe.

Insider Tips
Where to SitIf you want to be seen, eat your grub at one of the tables out front on Bascom Ave. If you don't want to be seen (for whatever reason), go for the table in the back. That's a good spot if you've brought your own, um, beverages.

For under 4 bucks I bought what everyone there was having, the SUPER BURRITO, it's about 3lbs, HUGE! If you have a hole in your stomach and you like Taco Bell and Weinschnizzel (which is right next door), this is the place for you; however, with all the tasty burritos around town, don't go out of your way to get one unless someone else drives you there, because your wasted and can't see straight. This place is far from authentic; your only choice of meat is ground beef, and then refried beans and tons of cheddar go on everything. Why anyone makes this a destination is beyond me.

The regular tacos are larger than Taco Bell's super taco and half the price. All of the food has always been fresh. Flavors and quality are better than the typical taco stand. The prices have risen very little in 20 years- taco 1981-$.89, 2007- $1.09. All the food is a bargain. You can ask for any item any way you like- and they make it. Whats not to like?
Pros: quality, service, price, hours, mexican chick at the register
Cons: drunken and/or stoned teenagers in the parking lot
