The quintessential South Bay experience is hanging out here at 2:30am with a burrito and a buzz..
The Scene
The main selling point of Taco Bravo is the hours and location. Besides Denny's, there are very few places to eat after the bars close on this side of town. Taco Bravo is open until 3am and attracts a heavy amount of happy patrons, especially from the bars in nearby Pruneyard shopping center.
The Food
Half the menu is dedicated to burritos. The other half is the regular array of tacos and tostadas. The inexpensive grub is better than Taco Bell--though close enough to be quite comparable. When in doubt, go with the big beef burritos. The pork is mediocre, so stick with the beef in the burritos. The chili burger is a poor man's Sloppy Joe.
disappointed.
After reading the reviews for Taco Bravo from citysearch.com I had a mad craving for some food.
A couple of my friends ordered nachos, tacos, burritos and this pizza like dish. The restaurant is a shack and you must sit outside on the dirty tables. They dont deliver your food, it's pretty much like a drive thru; except you walk. Everything, I mean, EVERYTHING was soggy due to the massive overload of beans. The super nachos were smothered with cheese and beans. My burrito was drowning in beans and lacked flavor. From what I just said, you know the food texture was awful. There weren't anything special, no guacomole, no sour cream, no hot sauce. They gave me 8-9 containers of so called hot sauce; I drank them. Eat here if you plan to have gas.
Taco Bell makes better food for the same price.
special comments.
day manager is a plus for the place. you can always count on good sence of humor, fast service, tasty eats and extra cheese.
With warm weather on its way, outside dining would be more enjoyable if the landscaping was cleaned -
up.
Thanks, San Jose Harley. Taco Bravo has some really good food. its american style Mexican food. I like the fact that they are open late 7 days week from 9:00 am until 3:00 am. The price of the food & soft drinks isn`t bad at all for the amount of food served. I never knew how good the food was until I tried it at San jose Harley during a motorcycle & hotrod Event. (the tacos & Burritos were free) There are three things that could use improvement. The Bathroom is awful. The state should shut them down for it looking like such a rats nest. The other thing is that the staff is really weird. they don`t say much to you. one other thing is that the tables are often dirty & that doesen`t look good for a a person going there for the first time.
my addiction!!!. I just have to say since my sister-in-law introduced me to Taco Bravo I can't get enough. The border people just cannot compare. Taco Bravo actually puts cheese on their tacos, and the prices just can't be beat Whoo Hoo! The hours don't hurt either they are there for the late late night munchies.
Bravo Rocks!.
I moved from Campbell to SoCal almost three years ago, but every trip back MUST include at least one visit to Taco Bravo!
In my younger days, we used to frequent the bars in the area, and always ended up at the end of the night back at Taco Bravo.
My favorites are the Super Burrito and the Super Taco, although having both can be quite filling!
Living here closer to the border, there is nothing even close to the yumminess of Taco Bravo!
Best food after intoxication. This is a must, if you are looking for somewhere to get some good food after a night of drinking, or even just to grab a quick bite. Taco Bravo is a must. Couldnt have an easier menu to choose from but yet there is variety. Just to mention, you can feed a herd for little money. *Just a note, try the super nachos, they are unbelievable. If eating at night, you might want to bring a jacket, only outdoor seating. I recommend this place to all people but mainly 15-40. Watch-out clerks are wierd.
Best Drunk Food Around!. Great nearly authentic mexican food, at a price you can't beat. The service and the staff are in a class all its own. At 2:30am there is no better place to eat in the South Bay! it's also the best pro-active cure for a hang over, and the best thing when drunk (or high). Bon Appetite!
When I want a taco, I head to Bravo!. Food: Bravo's food is great. Every item is tasty and has generous ingredients packed into it. I enjoy their tacos, but they are known for their burritos. If you are lactose intolerant, request little or no cheese on your burritos -- they're packed with it! I order the tostados when I want some variety. Atmosphere: Taco Bravo is in a small building, with an open arch entrance and only a few steps forward to the counter. As a result the seating inside is minimal. Outside seating is always sufficient, but Bascom is a busy street so car noise and exhaust are a given. Because of this it is not a great place for a corporate lunch. Service: The employees work fast, are friendly and have a nice sense of humor. Taco Bravo also has an ordering lingo that the regulars use. "I want two reds without, with extra, plus."
BRAVO...taco. Taco Bravo is the place to get a lot for your buck...you get big servings for a few bucks and the place is open late for those midnight cravings. Try a super burrito with less cheese and more sour cream.
