if you want an all out party, you can be re better than Voodoo but we usually come here because the place is not as crowded as others and we get faster service for drinks
Its just Okay .. bring ur own party.
Went there with a bunch of friends ... on a sat night .. it was wasnt too crowded but good enough ... sadly i think that this placce does have better potential (due to seating upstairs) and overall ambience....
dress code is not enforced at all .. people were really casual which i think ruins overall style..
drinks are okay..
overall AVG. place to hang out .. music was below average.. SHOULD GET ANOTHER DJ
cover is 10 bucks for guys... eh should be lower
THE PLACE TO BE ON A SATERDAY NIGHT!!!!!. I'VE BEEN GOING TO VOODOO FOR YEARS, IT'S A GOOD PLACE TO HAVE A DRING OR "FEW" WITH THE GIRLS.CUTE GUYS TOO! THE BARTENDERS ARE REALLY NICE AND THEY CAN HOOK UP THE DRINKS. PLUS IF YOU WANT YOU CAN GO NEXT DOOR TO TOONS OR DOWN THE STREET TO SAN JOSE BAR AND GRILL OR TRES GRINGOS. THIER ARE SO MANY CLUBS AROUND THERE. I THINK VOODOO IS IN A GREAT LOCATION. SO TRY IT OUT AND ENJOY SAN JOSE'S NIGHT LIFE!!!!!
Just Didn't Like It. Was a waste of time and a couple of bucks....my man & I got there after 11 and the place was only half-crowded w/a group of girls dancing, showing off their flashy rings & bracelets....totally not cool. We left not long after.
A dance club that plays the music of the past and present for a well-dressed, young crowd sipping strange concoctions..
The Scene
Voodoo is one of the city's truly hip spots for 20-somethings looking to impress each other with their knowledge of "The Brady Bunch," Leif Garret and otherwise useless pop-culture trivia. The dance club plays hits from the '80s and '90s as well as all the latest dance music, focusing especially on guilty-pleasure rock and soul. The crowd is mostly singles looking to be doubles; smug hipsters kick back on lush velvet couches and shamelessly flirt with members of the opposite sex.
The Booze
The Lava Lamp is a beer-drinker's nightmare--a fruity cocktail of Midori and raspberry Stoli with chunks of Jello floating in it. The Velvet Hammer is a more popular concoction of Southern Comfort, Mailbu Pineapple and cranberry juice. There's also all of the sugary-sweet designer martinis you could want and the usual full-bar offerings.
It's Happing!. The music is good and the drinks are strong. Plenty of room to get your groove on. Love the atmosphere.
The Best!.
The best music
The best crowd
The best drinks
The best bartenders
Do You VooDoo?. The best and longest running true nightclub in downtown san jose. VooDoo is off the hook! I go there all the time. We usually start at San Jose Bar & Grill or Tres Gringos, right down the street, but VooDoo is the place to finish out your night from 11:30 on people. This club is perfect. It's not too big where you just feel like a number. The bartenders are way cool and make a stiff drink, and the security staff is cordial, unless you try to fight, and they are on your ass pronto. No trouble here homies, this place is just for fun. Oh yeah, fellas, the honies are off da hook!
The Spot. This place has almost everything you would want on a night out. Great mix of music, good drinks and pocket fulls of ladies. Laid back crowd for the majority with a few knuckleheads mixed in(what else would you expect in san jose). Great place to meet that special someone, whether for a night or for something a little more serious.
Cheesy but decent. Oh yeah, this place is definitely cheesy. But it can be fun too! I was in Carmel for a wedding and got spirited here by my cousin and her friends. The music was good and the drinks were strong. If you're a girl who's a good dancer, the stage is yours. Met a lot of cute, very nice guys - no one spectacular, but overall a pretty good time. If you like the 21-26 crowd, you'll like Voodoo Lounge.
