South Bay's best mexican restaurant. Check this place out if you are looking for something a good bit nicer than your average Mexican place. A decent place to bring a date or have a special occasion. It's still a Mexican restaurant (nothing truly standout and doesn't break any new culinary ground) but for traditional Mexican food, you can't go wrong with Vive Sol.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. Vive Sol can't be beat when it comes to quality Mexican in Mountain View. The service is excellent and their menu goes far beyond your standard Mexican fare. I crave their food on a regular basis!

So much more interesting than much of the Mex that's out there!. This place seems rather quiet, yet it has the best Mexican menu we have had in Mountain View so far. We always judge a place by margaritas and guacamole first, and both were lovely: the margaritas were fresh-tasting and not too sweet, like so many places, and the guac was chunky and flavorful. We appreciated having three salsas to to with our chips: it was fun mixing and matching. There was also real heat in one of them, which my spouse appreciates a great deal.

Our dinners were both well prepared and quite special when compared to the standard "combo fare" offered by so many other places. While it was a weeknight, the place filled up quickly, though our server never rushed us. We'll be back!

Best Mole EVER. Vive Sol has the best mole ever. Out of all of the primo mexican restaurants in the area, this one cannot be beat for mole. The ingredients are high quality and they have an extensive tequila menu. Also, the service is consistently responsive and pleasant. The interior at night looks quite romanitc, but it can get loud. I recommend this for top notch authentic mexican.

Traditional and delicious. The silicon valley has no shortage of Mexican eateries. This place is definately one of the best, they use very high quality ingredients, the dishes are unique and flavorful, and the staff is really interested in making sure you have a good experience.

My family is from Mexico City, but when they come to visit me, they still want to go to Vive Sol. I HIGHLY recommend it. Particularly the Guajillo and nueva sauces. It isn't impressve from the outside, but the inside is beautiful, and this is definately a 'find' for those in the know.

Vive Sol. We have been there 3 times and each time the food has been served consistently hot, nicely presented, and the service has always been with a smile. We have recommended it to our friends and they al say the same thing.

delightful atmosphere with excellent foo. Great atmosphere whether it be in a large group or a quiet dinner for 2. Good food and wonderful menu... friendly staff.

Food's great, service..welllll. it could be better. I think they need to hire a full time bartender at the least. We were there for a birthday party and they had a hard time keeping up with us (about 30 of us) plus the usual 5 or 6 tables. The food, however, is outstanding. Especially the mole poblano. Great selection of tequila's, excellent margaritas and beautiful decor. Warm terra cotta, blues, sun and angel statues, plus candles everywhere. Interesting seperate patio seating with it's own bar that I'd like to try sometime too.
