Disgusting!!!. Wow, I was just astonished at the horrible food!! I am an absolute lover of Asian cuisine, but this place ranks at rock bottom. The poultry dish that I had ordered was barely luke-warm, leaving plenty of time for germs to grow on my food. The rice was a little hard and crunchy, it was stale and had been left in the air for too long. There was encrusted "junk" left on the drink glass I had recieved, and my table was a mess with crumbs and stickiness from whoever had sat there previously! The prices were way more than the food deserved or could live up to. I will never visit this place again! In my opinion, I would have liked to have the health inspectors there to make sure nobody else had to go through such a horrible fiasco like I did. It was an absolutely UNSANITARY mess! I am VERY dissapionted.

rice taste good. i like their fried rice. it feels like you're paying a little too much for what you're getting, but it's pretty good.

Quality of food seems to get worse every time. I've been to Windy's many times for lunch over the past few years, and it seems that over the last year or so the quality of their food has been getting worse and worse. Just a couple of days ago I ordered the Mongolian Beef and what I got was just not edible. It looked like it had been cooked several days prior and tasted awful. Avoid this place! There are many other great places to eat in downtown Palo Alto.

Good everyday chinese. With all the competition for "great chinese", Windy's lays down your favorites (and a few more) in excellent style. The sauces aren't too sweet, the food isn't greasy, veggies are crisp and flavorful. You get a fresh taste and a warm belly, without excitement and high fashion. I like the service - not too much attention, and the food comes quick. If you live in the area you should stop by when you're just looking for a decent meal, and you'll find yourself coming back regularly.

Quick, Delicious, Friendly, Clean Establishment. My girlfriend and I frequent this restaurant on monthy if not twice monthly basis. The Sweet & Sour chicken is definately some of the best I have had. It is drizzled perfectly with Sweet & Sour sauce and the fresh crisp vegetables mixed in with this entree is delicious. I have also had the Sesame Chicken which is tasty, mildly spicy and also very good. This place is perfect for lunch or for a quick bite to eat at the end of the day. The complimentary hot tea is accomadating and worthwhile no matter the temperature outside!

Best Chinese Place on the Peninsula!. Came across this place a few years ago, and have been going to it since then. The food is excellent ... not too oily, for fishy tasting like most chinese places. The place is very clean and doesn't feel stuffy or smelly. The service is quick and people are very friendly. I go to this place at least once a month. I had this food catered for my bridal shower and everyone loved it. Good place for vegetarians too. Highly recommend this place.

Windy's, best value Chinese in Palo Alto. I was first recommended this place through my parents around 3 or so years ago. Since then, it has become my favorite best-value Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area. One can have five dishes for less than thirty dollars. The Szechuan Seafood Noodle Soup, Seafood Clay Pot, Boiled Wonton with Chili Sauce, Vegan Potstickers and Steamed Dumplings, and Sesame Tofu are my favorite dishes here. The overall ambience is not the draw; the food is. The service is excellent; frequent water refills are a part of it. George is the greatest server who I know personally, and I have known more than a few. Ask for kwai tze (Chopsticks) or they will assume you will eat with the fork provided.

Straight-up American Chinese. Windy's is a straight-up Chinese American restaurant with all the classics, and a few surprises. Foremost, the food: it's excellent. Fish filet with black bean sauce is tender and delicious, served with green peppers and tender onions. Spring rolls are crispy and only slightly oily. Dumplings are plump and tasty. Szechuan-style meats don't pack the punch that is really required, but the dishes are always flavorful. The ambiance is not terribly inviting - the 4-foot wall cutting through the center of the restaurant gives a sense of disconnect. The service is quite attentive, however. With the existence of more than a few bad Chinese restaurants in the area, why isn't this place more crowded?
