The worst Indian Restaurant in the city

There was nothing good about the restaurant AT ALL. The Channa Batura was raw and uncooked, the dosas were too sour, the waiters never provided the water when needed, and the orders took far too long to come. We made a reservation of 20 people, so we assumed that the manager would have some extra waiters to accommodate us, but he was far too cheap to do so, and we had to deal with three waiters. The kids did not get their order until a hour after they provided what they wanted. The food that they gave was raw and uncooked. At one point, one kid threw up due to food sickness. The waiters would not fill the water at any point during our stay, and would "forget" to give us the free sambhar refills. Instead of apologizing to us and providing some of the items for free due to their lack of preparation, the manager charged full price and expected to give us a $100+ tip!!! It was absolutely the WORST food experience we have ever been through and we will make sure that we never go there again.
Bad food topped with outright bad attitude

I've been to this restaurant quite a number of times, I can confidently say that the food is mediocre compared to the other North and South Indian restaurants that I tend to visit regularly.
Every single time I've been to this restaurant not all items that are listed on the menu have been available to be ordered.
This weekend I ordered channa batura, I've had the same dish here before and I liked it the last time I had it...but this time, the dish wasn't cooked at all. So, I called the manager and told him that the dish wasn't cooked properly. Instead of doing something about it, he told me that "We dont specialize in north indian cuisine and we've been making the channa batura for 25 years..blah blah"..I was quite appalled by how he just didn't want to acknowledge that the dish wasn't properly cooked. Anybody that just looked at the dish could clearly say that the poori wasn't deep fried enough and it kept smelling like raw flour.
Well, my gripe is that if you don't specialize in north indian cuisine why do you even have it on the menu?? second of all no north indian restaurant serves channa batura...it's a south indian cuisine.
Whatever it might be...I'm never going back here again
- Pros: we get seated immediately as there's hardly anybody eating at this place
- Cons: bad food

The ambiance is good and that's about it.
The food that was given is old, chutney was spoiled and it smelled, the idlis were dead, the dosas were sour. When I pointed this to the waiter (or owner), I was told that the chutney smells because of onions, I come from south India and I know how a chutney or dosa is supposed to smell and taste :). I had similar experience a year ago when I ordered the dosa it was cold and dead and sour. I felt then it must have been an off day to the chef, but the second time I am convinced that the place is sloppy.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: food :)

The Quality of food has come sooo down ! I used to love their food. now it has been so low that it is much easier for me to cook at my own home and eat. I tried 3-4 times in the recent past, i couldnt bear the taste of his upma or dosa
Very tasty food, prompt service
