Atelier AVEDA Salonspa & Studio

$40 for a very oily haircut (weird I know). I went to Kaila. While I have been to this location before, it had always been to Nancy Montes (a senior stylist). I had switched to a different salon for a couple of years, but since I loved Aveda when I used to go there, I decided to give it another shot. WHAT A MISTAKE. The haircut Kaila gave me was pretty much what I wanted, BUT within 2 hours after the haircut, my hair was absolutely flat and horribly oily. Her styling was mediocre at BEST (no bounce in my hair whatsoever after the haircut -- which is supposed to be the best part!) and whatever products she used made my hair so oily I had to wash it when I got home, and had to wash it EVERY DAY afterwards for more than a week (and usually I wash my hair every other day). When I went to Nancy, I used to try NOT to wash my hair since I looveed her styling and usually felt like a rockstar after -- Kaila needs to get a serious lesson from her. don't go here if you're getting a haircut/styling before a big day...you'll regret it.…

Expertly-Trained Stylists with Amazing Customer Service!. After some pretty bad experiences at another unnamed Aveda salon in Palo Alto, I decided to try Atelier. The salon is located in Santana Row, and from the moment I walked in, the staff was extremely inviting. The lady who worked the front desk was obviously well-trained; she offered me a cup of tea, gave me a tour and made sure to tell my stylist, Julie, that I had arrived. My hair was a mess from my previous Palo Alto Nightmare, and I had requested a senior stylist, and Julie did not disappoint. She was completely professional during her analysis of my hair, and she never once talked negatively about the horrid color I had in my hair--she just said she had a "different approach that would get me my desired results." She gave me tons of foils, and the conversation was just what I needed. When she was done with the foiling, the assistant gave me the best hand massage, and when she shampooed me, the scalp massage was divine. Julie fixed my haircut too, and she even taught me how to style my hair at home while she was blow-drying it -- no one has ever done that before. When I was paying, the makeup artist, Elizabeth (my daughter's name) gave me a consultation and great makeup application while telling me which products I should use. The manager introduced himself when I was leaving and asked about my experience and even gave me discount cards for my friends/family. This place really has a great staff that makes you feel like royalty. I will definitely be back & recommend it to everyone I know who needs a hair artist. You'll Feel Like Royalty When You Go. This is a fabulous upscale salon. When I went here, I felt like a queen. I got a complementary scalp and hand massage. They really understand pampering and customer service. I went to Karie, who is the owner. She is fabulous. I have curly hair that I won't trust to most people to cut as they don't know how. If you have curly hair, go to Karie. She is the best. Anatasia gave me my shampoo and massage and she was great also.

I also love the Aveda products that they sell. They are made of natural ingredients and they smell so wonderful. The haircuts aren't cheap, but are worth it. Go and indulge yourself and feel like a queen. I did.…

A salon that goes above and beyond. I have been to Atelier three times already, and they are always consistently superb! The salon is inviting and calm -- a peaceful sanctuary that renews you. All of the professionals are top-notch. Jessica, one of the hair stylists, is fabulous! I get highlights, and Aveda's proprietary dies are not only natural, they make your hair look fabuolous -- shiny and beautiful. Everyone at Atelier is there to serve you -- they never rush you out. There is always someone to greet you with a warm, delicious cup of hot tea. I got a complimentary hand rub while I waited for my hair to finish processing, and later, a scalp massage to boot! When I was done with my appointment, Elizabeth, makeup artist extraordinaire, touched up my makeup with Aveda's awesome makeup line. Elizabeth rocks! I left Atelier with a beautiful head of hair, a pretty glow, and feeling very relaxed.…
