Tips for Erawan Thai Cuisine

highly not recommended. My husband really likes thai food, and he really exited to try this restaurant. We ordered to go, since we came with my little baby. When we came in to the door, the customer service is really unfriendly. There are so many tables empty ( only one table being used), we just want to sit first and then order from menu, but the customer service directly said, " You want to order out, right... order in here ( to the cashier table), and she doesnt even give the menu to me, she said, so, you know what to order?"

I said to her, " Can I have the menu? and Can we have a sit?"... Doesnt she see, I came in with the baby?

Secondly, my husband order to make the food very very spicy, just like the thai food suppose to be.

But, when we came home, the food we ordered, taste really sweet, without even any spicy at all.

The taste of the food also not correct like Thai food suppose to be. The price is pricey. We order chicken, seafood and pad thai... but the chicken only most likely vegie.

Very very dissapointed. Dont bother to try.....

Hard to go wrong with Thai food but this place did it.. I have been to Erawan twice now. I should have learned my lesson the first time. The staff is very unfriendly. The food is WAY overpriced ($10 for fried rice). The last time I went there (last night) we sat down to eat and it took them 15 minutes to even ask if we wanted anything to drink. The place was not super busy. Maybe 6 other tables. My friend and I both like our food spicy so we ordered it that way. The food wasn't bad but there was no spice to it at all. Very bland. What took the take was that my wife ordered a rice dish with prawns. She only ate half of it and got the rest to go. For lunch she was going to eat her left-overs. That's when she found out that they somehow failed to pack the prawns with her food. I don't know how that could happen since they were mixed in. There were at lease 5 prawns left last night and today there are none. They actually picked the prawns out and just gave here the rice and veggies. We just can't believe they would do something so bold. I wonder if they are going to put those in someone elses dish or if they are going to eat them themselves. What a horrible restaurant.

Pretentious Thai Cuisine. I went there a few months back. Pretentious food, ridiculous prices, and small portions ruin an otherwise charming establishment in a peaceful neighborhood.

Great food. My husband and I love Thai food - we've eaten at every Thai restaurant from Palo Alto to San Jose, and Erawan is one of the top 3 (the other two are Siam Square in San Jose on Willow Street, same owner as Erawan we were told; the other is Krung Thai, the one located close to Stevens Creek - not the Moorpark location, that one has really gone downhill). Our favorites are the garlic-chili salmon, yellow curry chicken, and dynasty pork or beef. But hard to go wrong here whatever you order. It's not screaming ambiance, but it's pretty nice considering the strip mall location. The wait staff is excellent and very friendly.
