If you want a laugh

I admit to being pretty lazy. If I experience bad service will usually ignore it and just take my business elsewhere rather than go out of my way to rehash it. However, this my experience with this particular business was so bad, I just had to share.

My buddy who is currently in Afghanistan was nice enough to send me flowers through FTD for my birthday last Sunday. I had plans for most of the day and was not home when they were delivered. The florist gave me a "courtesy call" to let me know they had left the flowers on the ground in front of my apartment door (which is in a common hallway). My complex is not great so I let the person who called know that they would not be secure there. She indicated that she was not concerned and that delivery had already taken place so, it was a done deal. I got home about 20 minutes later to find that they had already been taken.

I called to let her know and if she had said "oh no, I'm sorry, I will get another arrangement out to your on Monday", this review would not be taking place. Instead , she told me that she has never had that happened in 9 years and that she would come out in "a few days" to "knock on doors and talk to my neighbors and apartment complex manager and get to the bottom of it (I'm still not sure if she hoped to reclaim the flowers from the whoever took them and bring them to me?). When I pointed out that he had obviously made an effort to get them to me on my actual birthday so 2-3 days of investigation wasn't going to cut it, her unbelievable response was "What? You sent these flowers to yourself??" and then she proceeded to insist I had sent them to myself over and over while laughing AT me about it.I was just not sure how to respond to that as it was so weird and inappropriate and also incorrect. She then refused to tell me her name, the name of her "business' or even the order number. Finally she told me to have the sender (though she had just minutes before insisted that was me) contact her for resolution, even though I tried to make it clear that he is overseas and I would prefer not to have him know there was any issue at all.

I had to call FTD to have the matter resolved and even then it took 2 more days and many more phone calls. I had provided directions to have the flowers delivered on Monday to my apartment complex managers office. She didn't do it, telling FTD that it was because she wanted to see that I got them personally, though she never called me to set up a time for that to take place. It was agreed that on Tuesday she would deliver to my work in Palo Alto. Didn't happen.

When I got home from work on Tuesday I found that she had finally delivered them to the manager of my complex. I most likely still would not be taking the time to write this review if after picking up the flowers I hadn't walked to my apartment to find she had taped a hand written note to my door telling me that she chose not to deliver to my work because it is far away ( I live in Cupertino so about 12 miles) and gas is expensive.

I would like to note that the only reason I know the name of the florist (it was not included int the arrangement and she wouldn't tell me) is because FTD provided it to me, I would also like to note that throughout the process she took the time to tell the various FTD service reps that she felt I had sent the flowers to myself.

At this point I am finding the whole mess comical. I would suggest you use up pretty much any other florist anywhere than this one
