Very Ordinary. We went on a Wednesday. Our table had benches (no backs to the chairs - so rather uncomfortable). The service was slow. Most of the party of 6 had been there before - and were disappointed this time. I ordered Pechuga Ranchero - one small leg of chicken and attached half breast, with spinach. It was dry. For $11, I would have expected more. Most margharitas were $11 - outrageous for the tiny cocktail you get. We shared 2 guacamoles, 2 ceviches and had a main each and it was $44 a head (they add tip for 6 or more people). Very disappointing. THEN at 10pm sharp, they turn the lights right up - to get rid of you. How rude!! This was despite the fact we arrived at 8 and that it was 9pm before they finally got our mains there. Most of us agreed we wouldn't go back.

Colorful Santana Row Mexican restaurant mixes family-friendly atmosphere with premium-tequila bar draw.. The Scene
Vibrant primary colors set the backdrop for a motif of faux early 20th-century lanterns and painted pottery. The open kitchen is at the far end, while long rows of wooden tables and oversized booths host families, tourists and tequila enthusiasts--more than 50 varieties of the liquor are available. Conscientious waiters in silky guayaberas ensure timely food delivery and provide assistance with ordering.

The Food
Familiar Mexican favorites are gussied up with innovative and high-quality ingredients. Prepared tableside, chunky guacamole is catered to diners' tastes and forgoes the overindulgent addition of sour cream. Another standout are rich quesadillas stuffed with softly stringy asadero cheese and sweet fire-roasted poblano chilies, but the most complex tastes are reserved for entrees: tangy prawns are sauteed in tamarind-mole sauce, giving the dish a Oaxacan-Indian flavor, and tender lamb shank is steamed inside banana leaves to preserve the hint of its muscat wine and spices marinade.

Interesting!. I went on a Tuesday night with a group of six. We were seated at a nice big table by the owner. The service was nice from Silvia and the owner came by to visit with us during our dinner. We ordered several different dishes to share which was fun. We really like the chicken dish - can't remember the name, and the lamb. Silvia kept the fresh tortillas coming and they were great! It was an interesting change from the usual dining experience (tapas) and really fun for getting together with friends.
