Very poor quality sushi.
I have never been motivated to waste my time bad mouthing any establishment until tonight. I love japanese food and like to try numerous restaurants just to change it up. However, after eating at this place, I would never recommend anyone to eat here.
For starters the fish was definitely not fresh. You could tell by the salmon and tuna being relatively dark in color and having a 'fishy' smell (fresh fish doesn't have pungent odor). Generally, I don't order california rolls but my girlfriend got them with her combo that were absolutely disgusting! I find it hard to believe that a japanese restaurant could mess up on something basic as a california roll.
Finally, as I was leaving I found it disturbing that the workers were cleaning the glass over the sushi boats by spraying windex on the glass without regard that the chemicals may land on the food floating below. I would not recommend eating at this restaurant as there are many other quality japanese restaurant. You cannot justify cheap prices with the freshness of raw fish. And if you think it isn't that big of an issue, good luck!
Good Sushi and you can't the beat the price!. Staff is friendly. Good place to satisfy your sushi craving and not spend a lot of money. You could fill up and dine for 2 people under $20. Sushi selections are also great, I highly recommend!
User review by snoozie. There's got to be better sushi out there somewhere! I found the servers really nice, the atmosphere is bizzare, but not bothersome, unfortunately the sushi is way below average. I wanted to like this place because it is so close, have been there a few times, but the sushi just isn't up to par.
Cheap and Not Authentic!. When you walk into Ariake Sushi, you'd think you're in a disco. The decor is tacky! I am a big fan of sushi and I've tried a lot of Japanese reastaurants. This restaurant is like another sushi boat with tacky decor. The sushi is not fresh, but service was friendly. Will NEVER go back here again!
Flavor and fun!. Ariake is a good source of tasty food at a reasonable price. The feel is very fun and loose! The waiters have been known to do things that make dining more fun. Very non-traditional: Watch out if there's a birthday -- Lights out, smoke on, noise-maker and sake shots! I recommend Ariake for its food if you are unconcerned with how traditional and authentic a restaurant's atmosphere is.
