Good food, service is lacking.
The food is good, but leans towards to the HEAVY side. I am not sure if there is some good ganga going down in the kitchen, but sometimes it seems like the waiters are STONED TO THE BONE.
I still miss the old Willow Glen Inn.
Great salsa, ok chips.
Picky eater falls in love. yum. My sister and I are real picky eaters. I tried this place with my friend and fell in love with the food. I have to have all white meat chicken when I order and this place has the best chimichangas made with white meat. I have brought many people here to eat and they all enjoy the food. My sister will call me up to go eat at "the blue mexican resturant", she can only remember Azul as the name. This place is great. We will be visiting often. We also love that a bar is next door, just pop in get a drink and go back to your table. The service is great.
Best Mexican restaurant in Willow Glenn. Visited Puerto Azul after being recommended by coworker with this exact phrase "any dish in the menu will delight you" and make sure you try the chavelas. So, I visited this saturday and i must say that the food, service and their chavelas (beer served in a frozen glass with a hint of lemon juice and salt on the rim) were amazing. Anna our server took her time to name the most popular dishes (molcajete, fajitas, fried fish or if I wanted to go for a traditional plate to try one of their combination platters. Their Chips and Sala were awesome too.. Make sure you visit this restaurant if you want to enjoy authentic mexican food.
Editorial Review. South Bay favorite offers a spacious outdoor eating area, serving fresh seafood and Mexican delicacies.
Fun place, good food. Puerto Azul is a good, authentic, sit down Mexican restaurant. I first tried them out after reading that they were voted ?best Al Pastor tacos? in Willow Glen (by the Metro I think). I have to say that I agree with the Metro; there Al Pastor is quite good. I?ve enjoyed everything I?ve ordered. The decor is decent; they have a fish theme with nets and a starfish hanging from the ceiling. They also have a large outdoor patio in front that sports a ?Taco Stand? of it?s own (this maybe just at night). The only complaint I have is: with certain times I?ve gone, they have Spanish Karaoke going on in the patio that is pretty loud, and it can get annoying. Also, they are right next to (connected actually) to a bar that can get loud (especially if they are doing Karaoke too. I wouldn?t advise going on a weekend, unless fairly loud music is your thing.
Best Mexican Rice!. Very good Mexican food. Seems authentic with lots of seafood choices. The rice is the best I've ever had. The service can be spotty and some of the dishes can be uneven from one visit to the next. Parking is good on week nights but can be a little tougher on the weekends.
