Good but not great. I have been here twice for lunch. It gets busy during the luch hour because of their location. The service is ok, and the salads are good. The first time I ordered the chicken, I thought it was very good. However, the last time I ordered the same chicken dish, it was a bit greasy & did not taste the same. I may go there again a 3rd time just to make sure.

Yeah, not so much. I really wanted to love this place. I had been promising myself to try it out for the last two years. Now, I wish that I had not gone.

I have been 3 times as I think it is unfair to judge a place on one visit or one dish. The salads are fresh and really good, but the chicken is just plain greasy and there is some sort of 'spice' or 'herb' that leaves an 'off' taste in our mouths.

If you work near a SCC, it is a great place to grab a light salad lunch. But, I would not go out of my way to get there nor do I suggest the chicken.

Poor quality. I agree with the last reviewer. The quality of the food just was not up to par. The portions were large, while the flavor was forgettable. While the place is not expensive, I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Terrible. This place is absolutely horrible. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Prices are outrageous for what you're getting; they basically charge you sit-down restaurant prices for fast-food quality.

I had heard mixed reviews so my wife & I decided to try it out... that was a mistake.

WAY over-rated and over-priced. Stay away.

Check it out.. Can't beat this place for value. Sonoma Chicken Coop lives up to its claim to fame: quality, inexpensive food. The menu has a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, pastas, you name it. I've been here a handful of times for that very reason, there is always something for all. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. For the nights there are heated lamps and The live band is definitely a nice touch. If you're a pizza lover I highly recommend the bbq chicken pizza.

glorified cateferia food. for what you pay, i would rather go and get a burrito then eat here again. even when my boyfriends company christmas party was held here and it was all paid for, i groaned at the thought of eating here once more. dont get me wrong, i really did try and wanted to like it so bad! i tried the salad, the chicken, and the calamari. and the calamari made me sick! if you're a true foody, love great food, then dont go here. we live in the bay area and we are so lucky to have so many amazing GREAT restaurants, so go to one of those instead. this place is dog food.

OUTSTANDING! THEY HAVE LOWERED THEIR PRICES!!!. I've been a long time fan of Sonoma Chicken Coop, both the San Jose and Campbell locations and now the newly completed Almaden location. I've watched this small family run operation grow from the "quiet" (at night) downtown eatery to astonishingly impressive force that it is today. What impresses me the most about this operation is that they have managed to maintain the absolute utmost quality with their unprecedented growth. Yeah of course, I've had the occasional mistake at this restaurant, my chicken at one point has been mildly cold, upon my return to the counter, with ANY mistake, there has always been a very and when I mean very I mean VERY helpful counterperson to help me with any thing that I've ever needed. I have to say I was a bit miffed when "THE COOP" raised their prices at night, however after my visit tonight I was happily surprised to find out from the manager that the COOP HAD LOWERED THEIR PRICES back to their original point!!! The manager I spoke with was just as happy about the decision to lower as I was; she had said the increase had slowed the night time business down so the owners decided it best to take them back down....

I have to say BRAVO SONOMA CHICKEN COOP, you still rock!!!!

E Coli Anyone?. This restaurant chain is so bad! There is a reason why the food is so cheap. If you don't have taste buds and enjoy getting sick then this is the place for you. Unfortunately I have had to eat here and the Campbell location and they are both horrible. Only eat here if you need to lose weight fast and aren't lucky enough to catch a stomach flu.

Great Food... FOR YOUR DOG!. Based on the recommendations we decided to try this place. We were hugely disappointed. The food was very greasy, but don't get me wrong I enjoy to splurge every once in a while, but if I do it should at the very least taste good. I ordered the ribs and my husband had the steak. The ribs were NOT good at all flavorless and skimpy on the meat, but don't get me wrong, I did have a pile of bones to "enjoy", but not much meat and it was pretty tough. The steak my husband ordered was rubber. The bill was almost $35 for bad food BUT there's more you "get" to take your own food to the table. One positive was my dog had a field day with the ribs, so I guess you could say EXCELLENT dog food. There are so many other places you can go for reasonably priced food. SKIP THIS ONE!

Excellent and Inexpensive Food. This place is my new favorite restaurant. They have great food. Their Walnut Chicken Salad is my favorite. If you like a place that will fit everyone's taste, this is the place to go. Don't be put off by the long lines. They are very fast and you'll be sitting with your food before you know it. There's one in downtown Campbell as well, it's a little larger with more indoor seating but you can't beat the patio seating at the San Pedro Square location.
