Editorial Review for Brigitte's – by Tara de Lis
The Scene
Cream-yellow walls make for pleasant surroundings and the plethora of self-promotional art adds to Brigitte's hidden-treasure charm. A 30-something and older crowd of well-heeled regulars patiently wait for a seat at one of three rows of small, comfortable tables.
The Food
The bold sensations of the rich and creamy cauliflower soup can be an ideal start to a meal, or for a sharable option, consider the sharp selections on the perennial-favorite charcuterie plate. For entrees, the hearty stew-like coq au vin uses organic chicken legs skillfully braised in red wine, and the perfectly grilled flank steak is drizzled with a light Roquefort butter sauce. The signature chocolate moelleux dessert is worth the 15-minute wait, its airy exterior slowly oozes bittersweet gooey chocolate from the center.

went there with bf for his birthday dinner. The food was very good but portions were indeed small. Entree usually come with size options, if you pick the small one, I am sure most people would go home hungry. Brigitte recommended banana bread pudding for desert, which was not on the menu, but it was HEAVENLY. It's one of the best bread puddings I have ever had. Overall, the experience was pleasant and we really enjoyed the meal. Some minor problems - When I made the reservation, I had told them it's a birthday dinner but the chocolate cake still came without a candle. I had to ask for one in front of my bf. Guess it doesn't work too well for surprise :p
Pros: great food, good wine selection
Cons: small portion

My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night and thought we'd never find a table since we didn't have reservations. But the owner/hostess was extremely friendly and seated us right away...with one caveat: service would be slow. But we didn't notice it being any slower than any other upscale place. And because we were eating on the later side, she offered us a magnificent dessert wine tasting menu for half the usual price. Overall, dinner, service, dessert, ambience was perfect! And I would recommend this to anyone who wants to taste REAL French food not that fussy over-sauced type we usually think of.
Pros: Intimate, Homestyle food
Cons: Hard to find, Very few tables
