Barely worth the trip. I always remember hearing how great V-Bar was... and then I went. The drinks were good- great cosmos- so that was the only plus side. The location is fabulous, but then again, the other bars on Santana Row are just as good, usually better! I felt as though the patrons were a bit... pathetic. Early 30s men in their work clothes, ties loosened drooling over their soon to be one-night-stand. And the girls, they dress the part. Everyone just seems to eager I would say. But if you are with a group of friends, its a good time! I would say to start there for a drink and move on down the road (literally)…
Booooring. I almost fell asleep while watching people in nightmarish outfits. What's so cool about this place? The dorks who feel cool while hanging out in their Men's Warehouse suits? Pleaseeee...
Cool place, but DO NOT leave your card open at the bar.. Cool bar, great atmosphere, but do not leave your card open. At the end of the night after my friends and I all left the bar, I noticed 8 extra drinks charged to my card that we did not order. Called the next day, and got no answer. Called again for the next two days, and still no answer.…
Well made drinks, excellent service, comfortable ambience. This place is located in the Hotel Valencia on Santana Row. On a wednesday night there seems to be a huge gathering of professional men, so women if you're looking to meet a single man, this is a good place to start. The service is excellent, the cocktail waitress was very attentive and super friendly to me and my date. The ambience is low-key and smooth. Velvet couches and chairs are comfortable and easy to maintain a conversation with that special someone. Highly recommend this place.…
Thieves among employees. Don't leave your credit cards..
A couple of months ago I forgot my credit card at the bar. I have done so on more than one occasion in places other than V-Bar and there were no issues - I was always to pick it up later. In some
places, also, they destoy forgotten card rather promptly.
I assumed nothing bad will happen in a relatively upscale place like V-Bar. I called them in a week and they said they destroy cards in 5 days. Fine. I can get a new one. I moved on and forgot about this until one and a half week later.
Someone started charging things on my presumably destroyed credit card: restaurants, gas, Target, etc. Of course, I went ahead and closed my account immediately. Evidently they have failed to destroy my card as they claimed and aparently one (or more) of the employees used it.
Beware.…
