The best. I love this place! I have been going to Ishi Shima for 3 years and have never had anything that wasn't fresh and delicious. They don't over do it on the cream cheese in the rolls which is a big bonus for me. The staff is always friendly and this place is just about the cleanest you can find.

small but sensational. A tiny neighborhood sushi restuarant. Not as cheap as some others I've frequented, but so delicious that it's well worth a couple extra bucks. Fish is always fresh, portions are always generous. Room is small enough that it's always easy to flag down a waitress if you need her; yet at 6pm on a weekday we've never had to wait for a table.

I'v always maintained that a you can tell a good restaurant not by their flashy signature dishes, but by how well they can prepare a plain noodle dish. I've compared simple udon bowls at a number of Japanese places, and Shima definitely has one of the best.

Thick fresh fish nigiri and tasty/generous/well presented food. This is our favorite sushi place within 5 minutes of us. Usually when we go, the fish is very fresh, with large size cuts, and generous portions for the dinner prices of $12-20. This Korean owned Japanese restaurant is very small, but very clean and friendly with good food and good food presentation.

They differentiate themselves from other Japanese food restaurants in thickness of the nigiri fish cuts, the freshness, and care in the presentation. Very friendly staff, and they accomodate children with child plates/cups/chopsticks.

90% of our visits have experienced very fresh fish.

Freshest fish, great service! Just try to beat it!. When Ishi Shima opened a couple of years ago, we decided to try it because it was close to home. We have not gone anywhere else since! It's a small restaurant, 5 booths, maybe 7 tables, and the sushi bar. The service is impecable, and their servers (especially owner/wife Judy) are gracious. The fish is the freshest you can get. There have been evenings when they may be out of one or two choices, but I would prefer that they be out of it,and get fresh the next day. I always know that we are eating fresh fish of wonderful quality. We even had them cater part of our wedding reception, and they made great sushi, packed it in coolers and had it ready when they said they would.

The sushi chef is consistent and meticulous with everything he prepares. Share a cup of saki with him and he's yours for the night! He will make any roll you can dream up and it is always presented beautifully. Our family's birthdays have been celebrated here many times - always topped off with a concotion of a fresh oyster, saki, quail egg, tobiko all in a shot to swallow with one gulp. It's fun when the guests cheer you on!

Although Ishi Shima is in a strip mall, it is truly a destination restaurant! A large parking lot gives you a great opportunity to park, and it's convenient to highway's 17 and 85. Try it, you'll love it!
