"Spare Ribs are Good"

i went to eat here on a whim- saw the place with a friend while we were looking for a restuarant that served beef. The front door to this place is pretty much hidden, and very heavy. Waitresses attended to us pretty quicky on a weekend day at lunch hours. she served our house salad, drink and bread while we waited for our order. I had the spare ribs, my friend tried the steak, well done. the ribs had plenty of bbq sauce, and were extremely tender. although the sauce tastes alot like Ketchup mixed with other things, it was ok. my friend loved the steak, he couldnt finish the whole thing. there were 6 large ribs in the half size order and i could only finish two. along with the pretty large bowl of baked bbq beans and huge baked potato, this place served very large portions. i had alot to take home. I would go there again, my only wish was that they served potato salad or macaroni and cheese as other side dishes. they had limited sides.
- Pros: Portions
- Cons: Few Side Dish Options, BBQ Sauce
If your hungry go to Andy's Barbeque

I went hear with a friend that wanted to go to Armadillo Willy's. I suggested we try this place and I'm glad I did. It is far better than Armadillo Willys. I had half a barbequed chicken with barbeque beans and garlic bread. My friend had the brisket platter. The chicken was delicious. She gave me mild sauce and I asked for hot which she brought and it was spicey. I eventually went back to the regular sauce. The barbeque beans are also very good. The garlic toast was nothing special. My friend said his brisket was very good and tender. The fries were also good. The service was good and the waitress was very nice. I noticed that all the customers were men when I was there. I mean no women customers. Even my friend commented on it. There was a lot of food. I noticed the two guys next two us just split a huge sandwich and had their own sides. I think that might be the way to go at lunch. Especially if you have to go back to work. I was lucky and went and took a nap afterwards!

My spare ribs were definitely not "fall off the bone" and a little dry, but very smokey and tasted pretty good. My bf and I both agreed that the "hot link" looked like a hot link, but tasted like a big spicey breakfast sausage. The baked beans were bland and a way over cooked into a big ball of mush. The beef brisket, however, was tender, juicey, and tastey. My bf, a big fan of the brisket, says it was the best he's tasted so far. The baked potatoe was huge, perfectly cooked, with fluffy insides -- yummie. We also enjoyed the fresh house salad that came with the meal. The atmosphere is very kid friendly for having a dive-ish looking bar on the other side of the restaurant. Service was pretty good.
- Pros: large portions
- Cons: decor
