Great weekend buffet!.
Shiva's is an attractive restaurant, with very good food. If you go for the buffet, you get a lot of value. (Dinner by itself can add up.)
Their buffets on Saturday and Sunday offer a great assortment of wonderful dishes. You can try so many things, and they have different choices every week. They will bring all of the hot naan that you like to your table, just by request.
Service is very good. My children love this place, and I like that they charge half-price for kids.
Average Indian Restaurant. Nice atmosphere but service below average. The hostess was rude. The food was so-so. Overall nothing stands out about this place.
All around good. Finally a high end Indian restaurant that lives up to it's prices. The bar is nice, the drinks are a bit weak, but the food and service are the best of any indian restaurant. All of the tandoori dishes were good and the naan were hot and crispy. Without a doubt this is worth a regular visit.
Hard to rate. Shiva's is among the nicest Indian restuarnts that I've been to located on a nive corner location on california, and the bar is nice, but a bit too ambitious for the skill of their actual bertenders. The food is essentially standard indian fare with high prices and a few ingredients not normally found at indian restaurants. I was not impressed by the breads, and the seabass curry was a major letdown. The tandoori lobster was a nice idea but severly overcooked. This is a typical indian restaurant with a flashy setting and the standard food might be okay, but when the kitchen tries to get flashy it fails. Maybe a little more time ill help them work out the kinks.
Editorial Review. Lunch buffets and dinner entrees including kebabs, curries and a variety of naan, with full bar and catering service.
Thank You Shiva's. I had a dinner party here that went off without a hitch. There were 8 of us, and everyone agreed that Shiva's was excellent. We had drinks at the bar befor we sat down, and the bartender was great. Funny, engaging, and poured great drinks. I hope this doesn't get him in trouble. We for the most part shared a variety of dishes. All were flavorful, and tasty. I like my food spicy and hot, and that was not a problem. Lamb Kabob is my favorite. The curries we had (vegetarian, Chicken) were solid. Good portions. I can see this place becoming a staple in Mt. View for a long long time.
