New chef is great!!!!
by Reneeg20 at Citysearch
They recently hired a new chef from Napa who is redoing the entire menu to reflect his dedication to local, organic, slow food. Downtown San Jose is sorely lacking in this kind of restaurant, and ESPECIALLY at this price point. My bf and I stopped in for happy hour to check it out. He is gluten free, so we started to ask questions about the menu, and the chef came out and gave us his guidance on the menu, and also offered to modify many dishes for us. In the end, we asked him to serve us several dishes of HIS choice, and they were indeed fabulous. FRESH seaweed salad (OMG awesome, not like the slimy stuff at the store with the sushi), and the entrees were delicious. Most of the entrees are sub $20, so we can afford to go back often. Only downside is the newness of the menu-- he explained that there may be some hiccups in the service in the next couple of months as the servers and staff get used to the new menu and the new concept. We'll be back for the food. Can't speak to the club, never been there that late, but I think they have new management as well as a new chef, so the club may be run differently than in the past. We experienced excellent and personable service, but we were sitting in the bar fairly early on a weeknight.
Pumpin.
by gregm2008 at Citysearch
Yea, the food is good. The music is pumping, this place turns into a hopping club after dinner. Feels weird and artificial though, maybe I am getting to old for the scene. But if you are looking for dinner and a party, this may be the place for you.
RUDE EMPLOYEES AND RESERVATION SUCKS!!!!
by triniti87 at Citysearch
I'm like everybody else on here I had had reservation for my bday and it turned out to be the worst night. Me and my friends weren't on the guestlist and we had to wait in a long line which was stupid isn't that why clubs have guestlist so that you don't have to wait in line. Not only that we didn't have a table, which I was guranteed by the manager that me and my friends will be on the guestlist, a reserved table, with the bottles and stuff which I didn't any of those things that were guranteed, instead got treated like a nobody on your bday by the stupid security people, slow bartenders took forever on their drink orders, small dancing area where you can't even dance because you would end up bumping into somebody, didn't have any air conditioning on the dance floor, the dance area smelled like ass cuz people were all sweating a no air ventlation which made the place stink bad. Overall it was a bad choice to book an event here because of bad management about my reservation being guranteed to me, rude a**
sercurity guys, the line took forever cuz the people in front only let you cut in if they know you or else you're stuck waiting in a long line having to hear the stupid security guys shouting at you if you're not in a straght line the girl that collects the money for the entrance acted like she was all that being rude if to me just for asking a question. I would not recommend booking any events employees were rude, long line, bad communication about reservations and stuff, took forever to order a drink, small dance floor, no airconditoner which sucks when you're dancing. SO DON'T VOTE FOR THIS PLACE AS THE BEST BAR IN SAN JOSE IT SHOULD BE KNOWN AS THE WORST BAR IN TOWN. :-
WORST CLUB EVER!
by JamieEggers at Citysearch
One word: TERRIBLE. In all aspects. If I could give negative stars to this establishment I most definitely would, I only put a star because you can't give zero. I paid for a table at this place and it was the worst experience I have ever had at a club. I have gotten tables and bottle service at many different clubs and this BY FAR is the WORST! I would not advise anyone to go there or to plan an event there. A group of friends and I got a $300 table for my birthday and they wouldn't let my party in before I got there, so they had to stand outside for 20 minutes in the cold. Then once I got there my friends that had taken the cab after me tried to get in and they made them stand outside in the line instead of letting them go in the VIP line. Then when the got to the front they told them they were 4 minutes late so they couldn't let them in! If they would have been let in as a VIP in the first place they would have been on time! The people at the door were the rudest people I have ever dealt with at a night club. We ended up leaving after being there less than a half-hour to go find the people who didn't get in. They charged us $100 gratuity on top of the $300 for the table and we got treated horribly and were only there for a half-hour, barely had a drink. The management is unprofessional and does not go the extra mile for you. I have emailed and called to try to get a refund and no one has contacted me back. So if you are looking at this place, don't. You'll get rude door people and terrible service all around.
- Pros: NO PROS!
- Cons: RUDE PEOPLE/BAD SERVICE/UNPROFESSIONALISM
