Service is poor, food is average but with too much trans fat everywhere, best part was the music but the dance floor is tiny and the bouncers don't do a good job making sure there's a balance of males/females..oh and did I mention that food and drinks are overpriced??
Phony. Just another fake bar trying to fit into a high class area. Neither the drinks or the girls are worth it.
Good job Rosie 5 star all food, drink, and service.
We went there after a long day @ work (November 5th 8pm). We enjoyed the pub ambiance, friendly bartenders, & great food.
I had mouth watering filet, my friends ordered burger, and fish & chips. our server told us all the meats are Organic. My friends loved their beer selection as well. This was my 4th visit. Never bad experience. Now that Obama is our new president for change, and economy is hurting most everybody, we all should have more honest reviews, as opposed to bashing a good business. Good job Rosie
5 star
Great food - fun san jose place. I was down in San Jose for work and went to Rosie's with some colleagues after our conference... I live in San Francisco so I'm used to great restaurants and great food and I must admit I was not expecting much from an Irish pub ~ but the food was AMAZING. The bacon wrapped stuffed prawns and the Irish nachos were delicious. I got the Kobe Beef burger and ceasar, which were great too. We ended up getting three desserts because each one good that more people at our table decided they wanted some so we had to keep ordering (the bread pudding is the best thing ever). They had fun drinks (like pomogranite mojitos) and a DJ started around 9. The place was packed and really fun - even though it was a thursday nite. We all had a really good time.
This Restaurateur Should Be Ashamed. I am an extreme business traveler that eats daily at restaurants throughout the United States and the World. When I get a rare chance to eat in my home city of San Jose I expect that I deserve a great dining experience for such a great city. But, my dinner with my wife at Rosie McCann?s was absolutely abysmal. I have never met a more unprofessional and robot-like wait staff. At least they should have quickly got our drinks to help numb the horrible service; but that didn?t even happen. During our long wait to take our order, one of the waiters spilled a tray of drinks (no problem, it happens), luckily on the floor, and not on their customers. The cooks in the kitchen began laughing and taunting the waiter in front of customers. I would expect this from a staff of high-school kids running a fast-food restaurant. Our waitress continually apologized for the horrible service (slow, forgetful, automaton), but never made an attempt to make any heart felt effort to make any part of this gloomy situation any better. They never even offered a dessert menu at the end of our meal to help us forget the pathetic incident. I think we should have thanked the waiter for helping us get the heck out this miserable restaurant. To top it all off, our hostess brought us our check, with an attitude of a DVM employee. I gave her a credit card; she returned and did not run the credit card. She came back to retrieve the credit card, again, and was giggling like an embarrassed school girl. Very very sad! All I can hope for is that after a year or less, another restaurateur that has a desire and a passion that only a restaurateur can have will open a new restaurant in this location deserved of Santana Row. After all it would be a shame to waste perfectly good decor. Simply, go around the corner to the main drag or dog park of Santana Row; there a many wonderful restaurants. STAY FAR FAR AWAY from Rosie McCann?s!
Fun dancing - not so great staff.
This is a great place to dance when they clear the tables out after 9 to 9:30. The crowd is younger than most of Santana Row but there is a good mix of different ages. You will see some of the same crowd from Straights here.
The service does tend to be lame. If you are looking for a meal there are a lot of better options on Santana Row - or if you are looking for Irish food try the Irish bar in Campbell.
Very rude and unprofessional management --- please read! Do not support this restaurant!. My friend and I planned on dining here and the manager who was seating us was sooooo rude and mean!! We were sooo shocked that such a manager can be so cruel and mean to customers. We didn't do anything wrong but just requested a table inside. Instead she said she doesn't have to serve us and she won't -- and kicked us out. Total discrimination!!!!! Please don't support this restaurant. I called one of the owners and didn't do anything more but say sorry. I am telling all my friends to stay away from this place as there are soo many more nice restaurants in Santana Row that treats customers the way they should be treated.
San Jose Restaurant Review - Bad Management outweighs o.k. food. Two words: Bad Management. A very unhospitable management that is unwilling to make things right. We had a group of five people dining and received very poor service from a waitress who was inexperienced and often times rude. We also were told that we would have to leave before our dinner was over to make way for the dance floor. To top it off we received the bill with the gratuity added on. After speaking with the Owner about all of the problems we had, nothing was done and no suggestions by the owner were made to accomodate the situation. I would not suggest this restaurant because there are many better options on Santana Row. The food was o.k. but it definitely did not outweigh the negatives of the experience. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT RUDE MANAGEMENT WITH YOUR DOLLARS!
Editorial Review. Irish pub strives for more than the average Guinness-slinging watering hole, featuring steak and seafood dinners and Top 40 dancing.
